This is an absolute gem in New London. The chicken cutlet was delicious for the seasoning was incredible. Plenty big portion size for the price. ☺️The clerks at the counter where efficient and friendly. Fantastic location and the steady stream of customers just illustrates how loyal these customers are. Wonderful experience all around.

There is one thing and one thing only you’re going to do here: Get an amazing grinder. Sure, they have other sandwiches that are good, and an array of breakfast items and homemade mayo-based salads that are also top-notch, but their grinders are legendary in an area that literally invented the grinder (really, look it up).
They’re absolutely huge and crammed full of fresh ingredients. The mother-and-daughter team that runs the place are friendly and provide rapid fire service… necessary in a tiny place that routinely has lines out the door.
Be aware of the one drawback: Hamilton Market closes at 3 pm and does not open on weekends. This place is strictly breakfast and lunch, and most of the clientele consists of folks on their way to work or on their break. However, if you do want the magic of their grinders outside these hours, they do a big catering business too.

Awesome neighborhood sandwich shop. Popular with locals, they sell grinders (a half size would be plenty for a normal lunch) and specialty sandwiches among other things. I had the Reuben, which came with crisp French fries. There are two small tables in the shop that can fit 5-6 each, so we squeezed in alongside another group and had a great time meeting them, hearing their stories. The food was delicious – can’t wait to come back to this awesome family restaurant!

Amazing grinder Italian sub. Get the oil and mayo. Could not eat a full sandwich. Really high quality bread, meat, and vegetables. And a lot!! This place is the best sandwich place ever. (And they serve breakfast)

Hamilton Market Deli is an absolute hidden gem! As a newcomer to Connecticut from Massachusetts, I’m so happy I found this local deli and will definitely be a regular. I ordered an egg and cheese wrap with some added deli meat (a bit of a weird request, but they were totally cool with it), and it was delicious and the perfect size. I also grabbed a large tub of their potato salad, and wow—it’s amazing and totally hit the spot!
This is the kind of small business where they know you by name, and it’s clearly a local favorite. You can’t beat the friendly service, great food, and welcoming atmosphere. Their grinders are top-notch, and I can’t wait to come back for their March specials. We should all be supporting local markets like this—if you’re in the area, definitely check them out

If you get a grinder here and are hungry after? You need help. This is a small and would one person with a little left for a snack. Get the large and either plan on the other half for dinner, or invite a friend or two. Always overstuffed, always fresh, always the best.

Absolutely the Best Grinders in the area. Family owned, get a large eat half for lunch, second half for dinner. Friendly staff, know you by name. Packed with more meat than 2 large grinders elsewhere at same price. Sides & breakfast also on point. Couldn’t be happier other than hours, closed at 3, no weekends. But once you go, hard to go anywhere else!!
