However, the portion size was a bit small for the price, and the service could have been better. It wasn’t bad, just slightly disappointing compared to the food.
Still, it’s a decent place if you’re looking for quality rice bowls and don’t mind smaller portions.
The seafood bowl here was great – all the fish pieces tasted fresh. My favorites were the scallop and the BC uni, which was very fresh and sweet. It was better than the Japanese uni we tried in my opinion.
The 3 item special was also good – the yellowtail was seasoned with a green paste (not wasabi) that gave it a very refreshing taste.
The Japanese uni option we had was fine – it wasn’t as fresh as the BC option, and pretty expensive for the amount you get. It’s mostly rice in the bowl.
Still a great place for Japanese seafood, good for small groups or individual.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick even during busy hours. The atmosphere is clean and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner.
Everything tasted amazing, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend if you’re craving a good rice or poke.
Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. While I was still finishing my dish, the waitress stood beside our table waiting to clear the plate before I was done eating.
During payment, my daughter informed the waiter she was using a prepaid credit card. Before she could explain that she would tip separately, the waiter interrupted and said the card would not work on their machine. We insisted on trying it, and it worked without any issue.
Although my daughter still tipped 25% (she works part-time in the same industry), the quality of service did not match the quality of the food. Most of the tip was really for the chef rather than the service.
