We have been given all the reassurances that things will improve, and I am sure they will. So far, not so good. I have not had the margaritas, but I am intrigued, and I always like a fresh squeezed skinny.
The food was nothing special, and sauces tasted like cafeteria food out of a can. One young server was trying his best fresh guacamole. I did not try it, but I have good things. The menu is very basic, and the food does not jump out as fresh ingredients.
Three things happen here: This becomes a hang-out for the middle school crowd, and the parents enjoy the Tequila, The owners really improve their food to be more “Great Falls upscale,’ or the place does not last a year. Anything is possible.
I know they owners have an interest in a McLean Mex place that does well. For us in GF, we want the place to succeed, but we are talking fresh food and better menu. I am not sure how possible that is.

Triny’s is a wonderful addition to Great Falls. The staff is always helpful and courtesy. The owner tries to visit every table to make sure everything is okay. If there is an issue, they fix it quickly. Food is amazing, drinks are even better. Margaritas are pricey, so go on Thursday when they have a special. The bar will stay open late if there is a crowd. Love this place!

It was pretty disappointing. I ordered nachos and they only served it with 12 chips, I have never seen nachos with so little tortilla chips. I ordered cheesecake and they didn’t have any. The waiter made a suggestion that wasn’t even available. So I end up getting coconut flan. The flan was served with whipped cream and a cherry which isn’t normal for flan. The flan was too sweet and I couldn’t taste then coconut. Personally I wouldn’t recommend.

Great margaritas and awesome fajitas. Also, the atmosphere is great and our server (Maria) was awesome. We wanted to have a drink and hangout a bit before having dinner and she was attentive without being pushy. Our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

Nearby eatery after visiting Great Falls Park. Great service and the food was tasty. I had a Taco salad with beef, but various Mexican dishes on the menu. The Guac is made fresh at your table. You won’t be disappointed. It is $$ but worth it.

The food was, well it was average Mexican food… On the Border and Rio are MUCH better. The service was very slow and the atmosphere was just a repainted ‘Tavern’ interior.
More importantly there are no prices for drinks printed on the menu. Heck, I can afford a cocktail & I actually rarely even check my bill (a bad habit). But when I checked over my bill the Margarita, which wasn’t anything special, was $17. The owner was there and when I asked how he felt he could charge that kind of money for a Margarita he stated and I quote “because that’s what I think people here will pay”. He went on to blame me for not asking the prices. I explained that I would expect for drinks to be a reasonable rate and I therefore did not ask. He smiled and said “next time, you should ask” with a big ridiculous grin on his face.
STAY AWAY! This guy’s attitude demonstrates a complete disrespect for customers and I guarantee even an afluent community like ours will not stand for someone acting in this manner. I’d rather have 3.5 Guinness at the Brogue than one margarita at this guy’s place. I’m guessing the person who gave this place 5 stars is the owner or someone spamming for him. And if you are reading this Mr. Owner, you are a real jerk.

Place was not very good. Utterly unremarkable Mexican food. Huge menu is generic and unfocused. If they got a few good recipes, shrunk the menu by 75%, and focused on execution, the restaurant is potentially recoverable. Otherwise, it’s doomed.

I have been a fan this family’s restaurants since El Tio’s first opened in McLean. It is awesome that the they have now opened Triny’s in Great Falls. After a difficult first two weeks, they now have the food as good as and in many cases better than the McLean restaurant. Be sure you don’t eat too many of their free chips and salsa to save room for your meal. My favorites are the chile rellenos and the chimichangas.

Excellent service during a Saturday lunch on the patio with wife and three children. The steak and mushroom quesadilla was superb, and they didn’t skimp on the accompanying guacamole. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food, margaritas are really good and owner’s personal attention was very well appreciated. It meant a lot to us when owner himself brought us delicious Camarones Chipotle. Service was very quick and diligent. Muy Bueno!!!
