Looking for a good dim sum place?
This is one of my top places for a dim sum lunch. Unlike the places that are available in convoy, this hidden gem has lots of parking and great prices. You can order from the dim sum trays or the menu available. I always love coming here with my family cause it’s easy and the staff here is very nice. It’s great for our families and groups.

Had an enjoyable Dimsum on New Years day 2026. The portions were larger than other Dimsum places. Average about $10 per plate. At 10am opening, no waiting. However by 12pm, the estimate waiting was 45 minutes. Service was consistent and there were enough staff to fetch tea and drinks without having to wait too long. The ambiance was busy and festive loud. Plentiful parking in shared plaza that accommodate SUV and small RVs.

Many say this is now the best dim sum (Cantonese brunch) place in San Diego and it really is.
The quality and portions of their dim sum items are definitely up to par. Note that at lunch time on weekends, even their huge dining hall fills up. They serve dim sum all day, but after the lunch crowd, some items would run out.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Diamond Palace Dim Sum. While the food itself was great, the service completely took away from the dinner.
Our server repeatedly ignored our table for over 30 minutes. We kept raising our hands and trying to get her attention, and each time she said she would come back after attending to another table. Unfortunately, she continued to focus on just two tables that already had plenty of food, while we were left with an empty table and no service at all.
I wish our server had been more attentive and courteous like some of the other staff we observed. Good food alone isn’t enough to make up for poor service, and this experience left a bad impression.

This place is incredible. Authentic Dim Sum including the authentic experience with the carts feels really rare these days, so I was delighted to find this restaurant even before sitting down to order. The inside is clean, staff is very nice, and if you see a cart you like just throw your arm up and flag them down and they come right over. The food was delicious. The owner Michael made sure to keep the establishment good home cooking with no artificial tastes or buns out of a bag. I already wanted to go back a day later it was so good.

Go early on the weekends if you don’t want to wait for a table. They open at 9:30AM. By 11:30AM, there is usually a line.

First time coming to DIAMONDS PALACE, this experience was incredible. MIKE was one of our servers and he was AMAZING. Spencer, our other server recommended the best things on the menu and was very amazing as well. GREATLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. Forgot to mention FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

First time for dim sum. Long time since I had great dim sum in San Diego, with serving carts, big size portions, good taste and variety. I was amazed to find this place, my favorite place now. No need to go to Convoy Asian district. Really recommend this place. Is inside a large shopping are where Burlington’s and Northgate share the large parking lot

We went around 2:30 pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was not busy. The service was prompt and the staff were attentive and the food came out timely.
We ordered shumai, bbq pork steamed bun, shrimp and chive pan-fried dumplings and shrimp and chive steamed dumplings. Plus jasmine tea.
Our favorites were the shumai and the shrimp and chive steamed dumplings. All the the dumplings were packed with the fillings and flavorful. I appreciate that they were not overly seasoned or too salty. For the pan-fried dumplings, though it was delicious, I jist expected more crispiness on the bottom.
For the bbq pork buns, the bun was very moist and soft and good proportion between the filling and the bun. The bbq wasn’t unnaturally bright red as they typically are at other places, which I appreciated. But the filling felt mushy and mostly saucy, not much meat to chew. I would’ve like it more meaty and less saucy.
The pricing was reasonable given the quality of the food. Their tip suggestion was also reasonable and it was based on the subtotal, not total 😉
The place looked modernized and rather clean.
If you’re looking for exquisite, artisanal dimsum, this wouldn’t be it. But if you like homey, decent quality dimsum, this place will satisfy you.
Dimsum is served all day, everyday, but the cart service ends at 2 pm.
