This was an incredible experience from start to finish. The day of your reservation, you will receive special instructions on how to enter. I won’t say much more because I think that is part of the fun.

Our waitress explained everything throughly and gave us a few great recommendations. We went with the 5 course option and left so full and satisfied. I enjoyed each course and thought the portions were perfect.

It’s a relaxed, slow dining experience. So get comfy and enjoy your company’s conversation, the live piano music, and the various drinks.

Perfect anniversary night!

Pictured is the soup that comes with the 5 course menu, salad and bruschetta, carbonara and lamb ragu, chicken and stuffed pepper

What a neat place, a speak easy right here! Tucked away hidden. If you show up and don’t see a sign , don’t be alarmed. It’s meant to stump you.
Find the secret tapestry that takes you down and you will be in for a treat!
The drinks are excellent and the food superb! Can’t wait to go back!!

From the moment I made my reservation online, I knew Cellar 26 would be something special. True to its 1920s speakeasy theme, the experience began with a text message on the day of my visit, complete with secret instructions and a password, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Upon arrival, the unassuming facade gave nothing away. I was greeted at the host stand, where my reservation was confirmed and I was asked if I knew the password. With a nod, I was led to a hidden wall and placed in a small room with a locked door and an old-fashioned telephone. When the phone rang, I answered and gave the password. Like something out of a movie, the door unlocked, revealing a staircase that led me down into the heart of the speakeasy.

The ambiance was stunning with dim lighting, vintage decor, and jazz-era charm that instantly transported me back in time. This isn’t a place for a quick bite; it’s an experience meant to be savored. The food was absolutely spectacular, each dish crafted with care and creativity. The service was equally impressive -attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly in tune with the atmosphere.

Cellar 26 is more than just a restaurant, it’s a time-traveling adventure wrapped in elegance and mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape the ordinary and indulge in something truly unique.

Atmosphere was good (though very quiet at first). Service consistent and cocktails good (last word is great value and improved whiskey cocktail delicious). The food was mixed. We went for the 5 course set menu. Our appetizers of the seafood zuppa and caprese/eggplant stack were good. Shellfish tasted fresh. The lamb ragu was very nice: good amount of meat and really rich flavoful sauce… but the carbonara was depressing. Crispy Guanciale chunks around with some grated Parmesan but no creaminess or really any sauce to speak of. Not sure what recipe they have but it’s not carbonara: just a sad pile of bland bucatini. I told the waitress (in a less blunt way) and she took it away but there was no follow-up.

Mains were the low. Had the braciole and stuffed peppers, both of which weren’t good. We took the steak off the braciole because the central wad of effectively bread stuffing was not nice. Looks big, but it’s mostly breadcrumbs. Peppers had weird sawdust flavor / texture in the risotto, and were pretty wet and flavorless.

Desserts were great. Plenty given in the medley: fat slice of tiramisu that my wife loved, cheesecake we didn’t touch only cause we were full; biscotti, cannoli, and more. Wine pours were generous and they comped a cocktail for our anniversary.

Live music of piano was lovely, and the guy played a song on our request.

We got there at 545 and were there for three hours, which is one part we loved. The casual approach where they pride themselves in you enjoying the meal slowly; not feeling rushed, etc. Prohibition theme and reservation process is fun.

If we’d go back it be for the atmosphere, but not sure if I’d do the set menu…may just order à la carte, as I observed another couple do that seemed to be regulars. Did feel a tad overpriced for the quality of the mains.

Cellar 26: A Hidden Gem with a Nod to the Past

The restaurant is called Post Time, but there is a hidden gem within, Cellar 26.

The speakeasy-style experience at Cellar 26 starts from the moment your reservation is confirmed, adding an air of mystery and intrigue to your evening. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this hidden gem offers a unique escape that harkens back to the days of Prohibition.

The ambiance is cozy and intimate, with dim lighting and comfortable seating that invites you to linger over your drinks. The cocktail menu is a well-crafted selection of classics and originals, each prepared with care and attention to detail. Whether you’re a fan of traditional recipes or looking for something new, you’re sure to find something to tempt your taste buds.

But Cellar 26 isn’t just about drinks. The food menu features a variety of small plates and shareable dishes that pair perfectly with the cocktails. From savory bites to sweet treats, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that your experience is nothing short of exceptional.

If you’re looking for a unique night out with great drinks, delicious food, and top-notch service, Cellar 26 is definitely worth checking out.

It is ok.. a little too dark and a little too cold as well as annoyingly hard to find…. with all that Speakeasy, stay in the character .. when you’re hungry and it’s dark and Google Maps is taking you places that don’t feel that safe…. not worth finding out that you actually passed it at least 10 times, and it’s located in a basement of another bar. Cocktails are amazing. The food is just okay and does not match the price, underdelivers. Served in very small plates… it’s too dark, and when the piano is not playing, there is no backgroud .. overall ..will not go back.

The overall experience was underwhelming. Upon arrival, we waited about five minutes at the front desk before being directed down to the speakeasy. Once seated, there was only one other table occupied, and the atmosphere felt rather quiet and lacking in energy.

Our server had a unique demeanor, though it was unclear if that was part of the intended theme. The food, however, was excellent — flavorful and well-presented. The Chicago Sour was enjoyable but could have used a touch more sweetness, as the red wine made it slightly bitter. Unfortunately, the espresso martini was disappointing; it wasn’t listed on the menu and tasted quite off, almost like watered-down coffee.

Really cool concept executed poorly. “Secret” restaurant in a sports bar doesn’t make sense. Atmosphere is as expected (1920s speakeasy vibe). Drinks are great. Service is Slow as molasses. Party of 7 was offered family style menu without first given the regular a la carte menu with no explanation of 20% gratuity added to checks of tables of 6 or more. After the family style menu was chosen we were not served food for one hour. When served the appetizer and main courses there was not enough food served for each person in our party (ie six calamari instead of 7). The meal ended up being 3 hours! Too long to sit for dinner. I would come back just for the drinks.

Drinks are amazing. Our table likely ordered 10 of the cocktails on the menu, everyone was significantly impressed. I enjoyed a few cocktails, including the mezcal tequila which was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Well done!!

The food we had was very tasty. This is
a fantastic menu to and enjoy their creative appetizers and pastas and their fantastic bar program. The stuffed calamari was the best thing I ate, we started off on a great selection. The family style menu is very easy to make selections on.

Their Upstairs area looked good too. There was a whole area with bags and ping pong. They had a private party with a good looking buffet setup. The pizza looks good, I will try it for sure next time.
