My favorite is the Dan Dan Noodles for sure. Would definitely recommend that.
I thought the shredded chicken was very dry and I would skip that.
The Mouthwatering Chicken was very flavorful and quite pleasantly spicy (numbing pepper). Actually I thought the scallion oil noodles were too vinegary so I dipped them in the sauce for this and it was amazing. Alone, I would not get the scallion noodles again.
Something I didn’t like was the menu showed these large servings of dim sum (like 8 XLB), but then on the menu it said only four pieces and it was like $8-10 which I thought was pretty overpriced.
Service (5/5): Their chopsticks are unique with disposable front ends for sanitary reasons! The service was prompt and staff was courteous.
Wonton in Chili Oil (5/5): Very flavorful and the chili oil was a nice addition. It’s not super spicy!
Braised Beef Noodle Soup (4/5): The beef chunks were generous in portion but I wished that they had more flavor infused in them. The broth was flavorful and rich with meat flavors—it tasted very authentic to Taiwanese flavors. I liked the thickness and chewiness of their noodles. The table chili sauce was a must-have to elevate the bowl.
The store door says they are open, but no one is at the restaurant. There were multiple people who also came up to pick up their orders and found out they were misled.
The chopsticks was cool, and theres two bathrooms that look like storage unit from thr outside. I didnt get to check it out.
The noodles sometimes are made perfectly and other times overcooked. The knife cut noodles are usually good but the egg noodles are overcooked. My husband usually gets the knife cut noodles stirfry and it is his go-to. Mine is the knife cut beef stew noodle soup. These dishes are good but can be very salty towards the end, especially the stirfry. The meat quality also not always fresh. The wonton noodle soup, however, was far from my expectations. The noodles were really soft and lacks the chewy texture of the classic egg noodles for this dish. The broth was bland, wonton skin was also too soft, and the filling was not plump and juicy like the ones in Chinatown/Flushing. The dim sum dishes were ok, nothing outstanding.
The restaurant is very spacious inside and kid friendly which is great for LIC. I order takeout from here or come in when I need a quick noodle fix nearby. I will be sticking to knife cut noodles from now on.
