This was our first time here and came primarily because of the good reviews we had seen online. The atmosphere was nice and the servers were very attentive and friendly. The food, however, was just not good. It looked and smelled great, but had very little flavor. My wife ordered the chicken fajitas and the chicken was very dry. I ordered the chefs special and the steak was thin, had tons of gristle and the chicken enchilada was also very dry. I don’t know if we just caught it on a bad day, but we are planning on giving it another try, just to be sure. If it proves to be better next time, I will happily update my review!

Hamburger meat tasted very odd and looked grey in color. Wait staff was not attentive on drink refills, bring your own water bottles from home if you get thirsty. Wait time was too long for the food, it’s only simple tacos, cheese and lettuce, should’ve been fast food.

Update: Quality of service has declined since my initial review, today was it for me. Keep going up on prices and taking things away. Last time I didn’t get half my order. No need to call when they know what they are doing, pics is what they gave.

The food & service were excellent. It was a little warmer than I’d prefer inside, and we had some flies that made it inside and served as a nuisance, but otherwise, we really enjoyed our first time there. We will definitely go back!

We dine here every Sunday for years now. The staff is always amazing. The restaurant is also incredibly clean and nicely decorated. The food is HOT when it comes to the table and their presentation of the food is always well done. You can’t beat the price anywhere in town. No complaints from us.

Excellent staff and excellent food! Have eaten multiple Mexican restaurants in the Greenville – Winterville, NC area and in my personal opinion El Ranchero’s Mexican Restaurant is by far the best best I’ve ever had anywhere even in other towns. Don’t know if I was really hungry or what and I will try again to verify my opinion but yes El Ranchero’s reigns supreme!
