Sorry to be harsh, but this was easily the worst cake I have ever had. I’m just completely flummoxed as to how something like this could come out of a bakery. The cake was soooooo DRY and tasteless and the buttercream on top and between the layers was gritty and lacked any discernible flavor, just like the cake itself. You can see the browned edges around the cake which means they likely over baked it. They also only accept cash or checks, which is very inconvenient. My husband bought it but we decided not to take it to the Superbowl party we were going to simply because it’s also not aesthetically pleasing. This was a good thing because it tasted worse than it looks. After tasting it, we threw it out. We will definitely not be returning here. We’re yet to find a decent bakery around here.

Ordered birthday cake with lemon filling… cake was stale and had mold. Lemon filling was two toned and looked spoiled. Got cookie as well that tasted like burnt fish. Never again …

I actually stopped in the mall to go to Panera Bread and found out that it was no longer there. I was looking to buy some sweets and saw this little store front bakery. I went inside and met this mature woman behind the counter. All the baked goods looked homemade, fresh, any delicious. As I started to name off all the cakes and goodies that I wanted the lady informed me that they only accept cash. Luckily I did have some cash on me because if I didn’t I would have missed out on one of the best cream puffs I have ever had. I also bought Boston cream donuts and a pineapple cheese strudel. All of the food was great and the baker looked like he had been baking for many years. I feel so lucky that I stumbled upon the Yorktown Pastry Shop.

Excellent Bakery. Yorktown Pastery Shop is the very best ! If i could I would give 100 stars. My favorite cake is the 7 layer cake. I just wish they would serve smaller portions of the 7 layer cake. The bread is amazing and the cookies are the very best. The cookies are sold in small sizes and many varieties, which is great for parties. All items are baked on Yorktown Pastry Shop and when you walk in the store the the smells are so amazing, it makes u feel as if you want to try everything and definitely return and reccomend others to try YORKTOWN PASTRY SHOP.

This is an excellent bakery. Everything I’ve had there has been great. I wasn’t particularly fond of eclairs until a friend had me try theirs – wow! What a difference. Their shadow cake is great if you like really sweet, napoleons, chocolate cakes to die for, oh my…

I arrived late in the day, they close at 5 and I arrived at 4:15 so what i wanted was sold out, but i got a cherry danish and it was amazing. Nice and soft with plenty of cherry and other toppings. As an FYI I don’t think they accept credit cards.

Old school baking. Fresh quality ingredients. I had a delicious homemade real Boston cream filled donut and a large almond horn that was moist and flaky. A gem!

I have been a customer for over two decades!
The baker is gifted and everything is delicious here. The Meltaways are so fresh and sweet! Their Napolian Cake is the best! Breads and Rolls are unreal. But the perfection are the creullers, crumbuns and the donuts. Cheese danish to die for! Go…but go early everything flies out the door!

The best traditional bakery in the area. Great hard and soft rolls, breads, and pastries. Terrific German specialties like apple strudel and ‘black and white’ cookies. Whenever I travel upstate to visit family, the relatives insist I bring pastries from the Yorktown Pastry Shop.
