We travel quite a bit between Marquette and Gratiot/Washtenaw counties. We always always stop at the Bridge for food, gas, a stretch and a pee. This time, I said, let’s do something different. And different was Mill Street Pizza. There was a moment walking in when I thought to myself, “what in the small-town-tourist-trap is this,” but that went away immediately. It is a perfect place to stop and stretch your legs, especially if you’re hungry. I thought the gift shop was cute, but the food was SOOOO GOOD. We all had Philly steaks, made with delectable roast beef on some crazy delicious bread. The fries were omgosh, so crispy and well-seasoned, and their homemade potato chips were seriously addictive. A delightful woman (I think the owner) came to chat with us and I’m telling you, the conversation made our food taste even better somehow. We felt very welcome, even though we were there between meal services and they were probably prepping for dinner. Our server was a nice kid who provided excellent service. The water is well-water so it’s non-chlorinated (this is a big one for me, as I cannot drink municipal water at all). And the prices are so reasonable. You can get a decent breakfast for $5, which is basically unheard of these days. Actually, all of the prices were reasonable, especially considering how satisfying the meals are.
We stopped back the next day to try a couple of appetizers and the sign on the door said they were closed that day for “employee appreciation day,” which bummed us out but made us like them even more! Heading back down in a couple of weeks and we will 100% be stopping at this treasure. We are getting a pizza for sure! Five out of five, would definitely recommend making this your stop rather than the hubbub of St. Ignace. Thanks so much, Mill Street family!
(Sorry if the pic doesn’t look incredibly appetizing, the sandwich is mostly gone at this point. But look at that bread! It’s to die for and delicious even without toppings)

Skip Gaylord on your way up north, and stop here in Vanderbilt! Their frickles are amazing (fried egg rolls with chopped up pickles, bacon and cream cheese inside with ranch dip)!!! We also got the Hillbilly pizza that had bacon, red onions, and TATOR TOTS drizzled with ranch! Yum! The owners Doug and Shelly are super nice, and Tyler was great, too. Great music playing, adorable gift shop and an overall great vibe. We’re definitely coming back to try the corned beef hash breakfast.

Stopped in for brunch and got the veggie omelette with hashbrowns and a pancake, and it was all great. The omelette was packed with fresh veggies, cooked just right, and full of flavor. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy, making the meal even better. The coffee was solid too, smooth and not bitter. Overall, it was a really good experience and worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Great pizza and cool classic car themed. A great place to take your kids, though there’s lots to touch. We ordered two 16″ pizzas for our family of five. Had a slice or two left over!

The staff are so friendly and the food is awesome. Ordered salad and pizza to carry out. But then admired by the interior and asked them to dine in. Btw, we wanted to save some time, because of long haul drive. Without even a small hesitation, they let us dine in. Kudos to the team. Simply the best and located near freeway N75

15 minutes for a takeout pizza! And it was honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be back.
