Our family came into this country from a little town called Gioiosa Jonica, Reggio Calabria. We moved into this country in 1991 and started working in various restaurants to learn the tools to open our own place. In 1993 we found this amazing location in West Orange and have been open ever since. We enjoy sharing our traditional, homemade Italian recipes with the community. We make all our food with the freshest ingredients and of course the most important ingredient, LOVE. Please come and enjoy these recipes with your family and friends. We’ll see you soon!

I’m so glad that Franks Pizzeria in West Orange New Jersey is still open Despite the fact that there’s construction right outside for the new target department store that’s going up soon.
I ordered the classic chicken Parmesan with a side of pasta. I chose the penne pasta and red sauce, which is my favorite. The chicken was tender, plump, and the tomato sauce was deliciously sweet.

This place is definitely a hidden gem worth visiting. The location is a bit conspicuous, in the back corner of the parking lot, next to retro fitness. However, the food is absolutely worth it. They are a cash only business, but I know many restaurants in the area that are cash only as well. This is an easy area to get cash from if need be at the last moment. The food is amazing. Pizza the way it should be. I haven’t had great pizza like this for as long as I can remember. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. This will surely be one of my go-to pizza spots.

I ordered 2 slices of the buffalo chicken pizza and 2 plain slices. The slices were crispy but the buffalo chicken pizza was very very salty for my tastes. Perhaps the buffalo and blue cheese sauce they add on top of the pizza? Also, there wasn’t much chicken on the pizza.
I would not order this again.
The plain slices were good. But the size of the slices are uneven.

Place is clean and the staff is friendly. There are a good amount of seats and they offer bring your own wine, not sure about beer. Pizza was good. Cheesesteak was a little on the plain side and the roll was cooked a little too long. Spaghetti was delicious.

Very seldom do I give a restaurant 5 stars. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about. We ate at a very well known fancy Italian restaurant yesterday in Times Square and it does not compare to this place at all. This place is truly a gem. Everything we had was delicious. It was 9 of us, 5 kids and 4 adults. Ordered pepperoni pizza for the kids. Then each of us got a different meal. They treated us like family. I’m glad we found it. I will always make sure to stop by here each and every-time we visit New Jersey. Oh yeah bring CASH they do not accept card payment at all. Forget all those complaining about having to get cash too. The stop at the ATM is worth it!!!!

The food here is good, but so far the best options are pizza, garlic knots and buffalo chicken wings.
If you get an entree that comes with soup or salad, salad is the best choice as the soups can be a little salty.
Be prepared, this is a cash only business, credit cards are not accepted.

We went to get our usually fave penne vodka but left disappointed. It was around 8:15pm when we arrived. Website saids they close at 10pm. So we usual get warm bread with our penne and the bread served was not warmed. We usually get butter with our bread we didn’t get butter had to go up and ask for some. The pizza we ordered was not warmed up enough like they usually do. They started cleaning up as if they were closing. Chair were up on tables . We felt rushed. Service is way better when the mother and daughter are there serving or the Spanish man who lives in Kearny. Today service was disappointing.

The food is made to order.. The food come out Fresh.. We had Dine In and it was empty inside and cleaned as well… The guy who made our pizza w a white Apron on have had a Very Nasty SMART Mouth.. His Comment wasn’t even called for.. The server who took care of Us was very sweet and always made sure we were good. Fried Calamaries and The Sandwich was delicious. The taxes was Damn LOL…
