It was our first time here tonight. Friday night at 530 for dinner and no wait for a table. The wait for service and a drink was much longer. Don’t want to complain about the guy he was the only waiter and did great but he was swamped. We were here for an hour and a half for 1 drink and food. I had the lobster tempura my girl the beef sukiyaki and we ordered a volcano roll and the sashimi sampler. Both entrees were mediocre with not much flavor. The volcano roll was fantastic, the sashimi platter was good as well. Ol fashioned weak. Place has potential. Would give another chance

We love suishin! I always get the chicken katsu because I’m not a big fan of seafood – it comes with so much food (soup or salad too)! My husband loves the sushi as well

Suishin was a lovely restaurant with very polite and kind staff, excellent food, and a quiet, calm atmosphere.

We came here for a little night out, searching for a new sushi spot beyond our usual haunts. This restaurant was highly rated and the menu looked right, so we stopped by. I am glad we did. We enjoyed every bite. The sushi was fresh and expertly prepared, each item unique and flavorful, worth it 100%.

Our server was attentive and very helpful, constantly checking in and offering recommendations when appropriate.

We would definitely come here again and hope you will give it a try!

Suishin Restaurant in North Oaks offers a fantastic menu with delicious options like edamame, negimaki, ikura sushi, eel pizza, and tonkatsu—each dish was truly exceptional. However, I made the mistake of ordering ramen, which wasn’t on the menu, based on a previous Google review. There’s a good reason it’s not on the menu—the ramen had an unpleasant smell like pig feet and tasted like watered-down broth. Stick to the items on the menu; they won’t disappoint! The ramen mishap was my fault, but overall, Suishin is a great spot for authentic Japanese cuisine.

When we arrived we were immediately seated and then we ordered and got our food really fast, the atmosphere was also really nice and was SUPER clean! Anyways I ordered ramen and I was struggling with chopsticks so the staff offered me a fork, which was nice of them. The ramen was also really amazing. Also they have really cool sinks.

3 STARS = IT’S OKAY.
The employees were great and nice. Service was excellent. We got our food quite quickly! The entire place was clean and tidy. The sushi was alright. It wasn’t the best quality as a piece of our sushi fell off the Nori in our Spicy Tuna Roll. The Spicey Salmon Roll was not spicy but it was okay. The Philidalphia roll was okay; rice was soft and it did have a creamy texture to it which made it quite good. The Ramen, it was alright; the broth wasnt thick but it didn’t exceed the quality of other Ramen places around the cities (See my ramen suggestions list). The Udon dish was probably the most delicious meal. Overall, this place DEFINITELY gives you 100% service. The overall food was alright. Would I come here again? Maybe since its the closest Japanese restaurant around in the White Bear Lake/North Oaks/Shoreview area. I would definitely suggest coming here for lunch. This is a VERY high ‘3’ out of 5 for me.

It was…excellent!! My big bro took me and siblings to this restaurant. It is really nice in here the first time without Mom and Dad, ordering ourselves. At least, we are learning how to order at the buffet or other restaurant.

The first order that I picked, a shrimp tempura with deep fried veggies and a fried pork (I forgot the name was, sorry). It’s good to know I’ve ever tried their food.

It is very similar to a few restaurants on my family vacation or this Minnesota.

But as I didn’t expected my siblings ordered a deep fried ice cream! Oh, man, that was crazy! XD

And guess what I also figured out in my brainstorm and thoughts. This restaurant must’ve been underrated, and it’s not that bad. They have To-Go after ordered foods/saving leftovers to take home and the bar to enjoy your drinks (not for kids).

Oh yeah! Including your first order, they’ll give you a nice small bowl size of the soup with seaweeds. Tasty soup! (:3

Good luck!

The sushi was very good and our service was quick and friendly. Great place to get sushi around the St. Paul area.

This is the most delightful sushi restaurant in the Cities. I prefer this to Masu or the all-you-can-eat places. It is criminally underrated.

My recommendation:
Gyoza Potstickers
Miso Soup
Mr. Winter Roll (secret menu item)

Scott the usual host is excellent and always happy to provide great recommendations and even greater service.
