With temps below zero & we wanted some warm, soul-soothing food, so we ordered delivery!

First time trying Happy Thai and we were not disappointed.

We ordered apps, entrees, and dessert and all the food was so flavorful & delicious!

For apps we got Tom Yum soup, which is a sweet & sour spicy lemongrass & galangal broth with shrimp as our protein. We also got the crispy spring rolls & steamed dumplings.

Entrees we got Drunken noodles and sautéed veggies with tofu with a request to make it spicy because spice is life haha.

And for dessert I had to get mango sticky rice!

The portions were a wee bit on the small size but the food was hot and the flavors were delish!

We will definitely be back! And as always… support your local small businesses peeps!

amazing food at a great price point. i’ve come back here twice now and was super happy both times. the thai tea was refreshing and helped a lot in cooling down super spicy foods. the nam tok was excellent with lots of toasted rice powder with the savory and sour sauce and the beef was the perfect texture. pork drunken noodles were amazing as usual with good balance of flavors. crispy chicken kapow was fried to perfection with an additive sauce. highly recommend coming here if you get the chance !!

This restaurant is close to the INOVA medical complexMosaic, across from BMW Fairfax. The lunch special was amazing for $12.95. I chose chicken pad Thai and spring roll. Both came out piping hot and delicious. The portion was large and I brought half home with me. They have approx. 10 tables, pleasant music and fresh flowers on each table. My server (Kate) was attentive and very sweet. I highly recommend trying this restaurant, it’s always nice to support a local business.

We’ve been getting takeout from here for several years. The food is good.
Recently we went in to eat and it looks like they’ve renovated the place with fresh paint and new decorations. I would totally go back to dine in again!

This restaurant is more of a takeout spot; while they do have indoor dining the amount of tables/seating is limited. We gotten the Thai iced tea which was so delicious perfect amount of sweetness, hot jasmine tea, Chicken drunken noodles and tofu fried rice. Overall good food and drinks! The spice levels are adjustable so it’s perfect for the spice lovers and those who want it less spicy.

The best drunken noodles I’ve had so far in the DMV. So well balanced, perfect spice, texture and flavor. The Thai tea is very refreshing and tasty. Not watered down at all. Very authentic. The woman working the counter, I believe the name she gave was Kate (can’t remember exactly), was so sweet and kind. She really made the experience at this restaurant that much better.

Everything that we tried tasted good. The shrimp padthai, sesame chicken and tom kha soup were all delicious. The service was good too.

The fried fish was crispy and well-seasoned, the crab fried rice was rich and satisfying with generous portions of crab, and the river boat noodles packed a deep, comforting broth with just the right amount of spice.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the meal, creating a welcoming and relaxed dining atmosphere. The interior is modest but clean, and the food more than makes up for any lack of flash.

Happy Thai is a hidden gem! Despite its small size, it has a homey, clean, and authentic feel with a great vibe. The service is top-notch. The lady who took our order was incredibly kind and always had a smile on her face, which made our experience even better.

As Thai food enthusiasts, we always order Tom Yum soup and Drunken Noodles wherever we go. The Tom Yum soup here was good, but the Drunken Noodles were exceptional—fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We also tried the Soft Shell Crab, and despite not being a crab person, I found it amazingly good. It’s something I would order every time I return.

We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was super nice. If you’re looking for delicious Thai food, I highly recommend Happy Thai. We’re definitely coming back!

Update: Had to come back again for the Soft Shell Crab. This time we also tried the Mango Sticky Rice. I’ve eaten plenty of Mango Sticky Rice but theirs is absolutely delicious. I like how fresh it tastes and the rice is nice and warm!

12/7/2024 update: If you’re craving mussels, this dish is a must-try! The new steamed mussels are absolutely incredible—perfectly cooked, fresh, and paired with a sauce that’s bursting with flavor. The refreshing aroma of mint takes it to the next level. This has quickly become one of my favorite dishes on the menu, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Happy Thai. You won’t regret it!

We’ve tried over 10 thai restaurants in NOVA looking for a great go-to, and I think we finally found it. If you want tasty thai food without the instagram fluff, this is it. We got the pineapple fried rice, pad thai, and went out on a limb for the sesame crispy chicken. All was great and this was just what we were craving. Service was also excellent. I think next time we will even ask for extra pad thai sauce. Can’t wait to try more!
