In the summer of 1949 Mrs. Paparazo and her three sons started the Pottsville Pizzeria, the first Pizzeria in the area. It’s first location was in the basement of their residence at 441 Prospect St. In 1953 expanding business made it possible to move to 530 N. Centre St. which gave move convenience to their customers. In July of 1962 the new location at 800 S Centre had its Grand Opening making it even more convenient for their customers, operating both locations 530 N Centre St. and 800 S Centre St. until 2002 when the 530 N Centre St location was sold to a former employee. March of 2012 the company lost Lou Paparazo. Pottsville Pizzeria is currently owned and managed by Todd Paparazo and longtime employee of 38 years Scott Kline.

I try to stop by for a slice every time I pass through while living the van life, and it never disappoints. The pizza is consistently delicious, and it brings back all those nostalgic memories with each bite. I was thrilled to be in town for their 75th anniversary celebration, which was a fantastic event and a great time. The turkey sub I got on the way out was also delicious!
If you’re ever in Pottsville, do yourself a favor and stop by for a slice at Pottsville Pizzeria. It’s a true gem that has been bringing joy to the community for decades!
I opted for a single slice, came out hot and crispy. Not a lot of seating but it wasn’t designed to be as they recently celebrated their 75th anniversary. Roughly 10 customers came and went during my 15 minute visit.
Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for that isn’t the norm.
the distinct aroma of baking pizza. This scent couldn’t be captured or
reproduced anywhere else. Your favorite menu item is masterfully produced behind a partitioned counter and it appears like magic in minutes. I always get a Regular sub, and a pint carton of Guers iced tea. The sub is always precision wrapped in the trademark crisp white butcher paper, secured with an adorable paper sticker with red retro lettering “Thank you” “Call Again.” Every bite of the sub is amazingly fresh and tasty. The unique roll, and the subtle but very present seasoning with the most fresh lettuce and tomato make it understandable how the 75th anniversary has been achieved.
