It’s been said, don’t judge a book by its cover…There is something to be said when a restaurant’s parking lot is always busy. This place is a TRUE GEM. Where do I start?!
First, you are greeted as if you are visiting family. On the day I visited, there were two sisters serving customers and greeting people at the door. Their mother preparing authentic dishes, with fresh ingredients evident in every bite. Additionally, the interior is CLEAN, with decor genuine to the comforts of a HOME in Thailand. From the wooden walls to the diverse designs of the plates, this place focused on experiencing family celebrations with great food and friends. All of this to say, I enjoyed every moment of my dining experience…hopefully, you will too.

Note, my 81-year old mother, who likes to speak her mind often, was enjoying her food so much that she could not “speak her mind” because her mouth was full…That was a hidden blessing to my experience…LOL (Mom said to mention her in my review)

It was ok. The food tasted decent but a bit spicy for me. The decor is busy, I guess it’s Thai-themed. It was cold in the restaurant when we were there, of course it was January, but some heat would have been nice. Our server had no personality but got our orders right, so that’s a good thing!

I seen so many people posting good reviews on tiktok and I think it was just a scam. The famous Thai rice was bland and when opened container there was a hair in the bowl…. I got the pad see ew and it also did not have flavor to the point I could just taste pepper. I did get it with chcicken maybe it would have been better for protein if I got the beef. The spring roll was ok and the shrimp cream cheese roll was good the only thing I really liked. I also got the Thai tea, it’s good bc sweet not really for that Thai flavor

Just about have burned through everything on the menu at least once and its always been exceptional. Beware their signs about heat though, they really bring nice spice.

The best Pad Thai around and worth the drive to come here! And when they say HOT, it is spicy hot! So just be aware that if you get “Thai Hot” level of spice at some places, it is probably equivalent to their level of “Hot” here. But it is definitely delicious and priced very well!

I’ve been looking for a qualty Thai restaurant for quite a while in my area. The search is over. Pulling up, a classic local dive with Thai flair. This seems to be a family owned restaurant, and I suspect is complete with recipes from their origin.

I started with the basil rolls, and they set the tempo. These were fresh, and bounding with flavor. This was a great opening. I also sampled my wife’s spring roll – fried, not greasy, with the veggies inside still crunchy. Easily some of the best spring rolls I’ve had.

I had the Red Curry Tofu, as this is the dish I judge all Thai restairants by. I ordered it standard heat, not Thai-hot.The creaminess of the curry was spectacular! The vegetable assortment was unlike other curries I’ve had in the area. In retrospect, the heat was approachable as the flavor didn’t allow the heat to take center stage. I opted for the sticky rice option as a nod to Laos.

I sampled my wife’s sweet and sour chicken – it was a flavor profile that defied my expectations. It was very good!

Service was excellent, all things considered. They must’ve had a HVAC issue, as workers were in the attic, so that was a bit of a distraction, but it was just bad timing for us. The service worked around this issue effectively, without taking from dinner service.

Bangkok Cabin is now my Thai standard.

We loved it when we came. Had a Thai tea, mango rice, pad thai with chicken, and basil rolls. Total came to $39 which we felt was reasonable. The Pad thai had a ton of sauce which was a little too much for my liking but not a bad thing, the shrimp basil rolls were fantastic and I loved the thai tea as well

Too salty and spicy with no flavor

Service 3/5

Atmosphere 1/5

It’s an old house. It felt dirty the whole time I was there. This place had funny smell…dirty, old, sour carpet smell…disgusting.

Truly a bad experience. That dude with the purple hair up front is terrible. Called me order in, order $70 worth of food, I asked for a soup recommendation “well I don’t know” that’s great. They say they need 40 minutes. I arrive 45 minutes later and I’m told I need to sit and wait for another 10. After 20 minutes the guy with the purple hair comes back out says is this yours then with no apology just hand me the bag of food and sends me on my way. And to make it all better, I’m missing an order of dumplings. Will not be returning.

Great food and their Thai Tea is awesome. “Cabin” itself can be a little sketch though.

Updated review:
I left my original review upon my first visit. I lived in the area for almost a decade and Bangkok Cabin became one of my favorite places to visit before I moved away. My wife and I visited again today and it reminded just how awesome this place is. The food is fantastic and authentic . Which means most Americans will want the mild before trying the medium! The coconut soup is delicious, and the panang curry among the best we’ve ever had. I’ve been here many times and never once been disappointed. The “cabin” feel does strike you the first time you visit, but it grows on you and is actually rather endearing. I highly recommend you visit not just for the food but the super polite servers and still reasonable prices.
