It’s a place that is trying hard but failing. The place is small and this time around they had someone moving around the dinning room taking food to tables and “cleaning” tables. I say “cleaning” because the tables are left dirty and you have to go up to the gentleman and ask for the table to be clean. We ordered a breakfast burrito, my 2 kids had the little breakfast (an egg, bacon and a package), and I ordered a carne asada torta. I thought something simple can’t be messed up.
Place was packed so food did take a while but it did take longer than other places. However, the food was not worth the wait. My kids bacon did not taste like bacon. It was sweet. Not sure what kind it was or if they trying to do something fancy with it, but it’s bacon, it good on its own! Both pancakes were burnt and the add cheese on top of the egg. Luckily the kids did not mind the cheese on the egg. My wife’s burrito was good but nothing special. We definitely have had better elsewhere. My torta was bad. The meat had no flavor or seasoning. The bread was odd, it felt soft but also wet. The avocado was also not ripe. It was bitter and with a lot of lemon juice.
The place is pack but I’ll be honest. It’s probably from people who don’t eat out and know what good food taste like. This is not it.
I had the chilaquiles con huevos, super good with a delicious salsa.
My wife had the pancakes and we both loved them. Great coffee, and other authentic Mexican dishes.
Excellent customer service, clean restrooms and nice music.
They have $0.99 Taco Tuesday and Thursday!
1. Dryyyy chilaquiles. I had to ask for salsa… and then wait like 30 minutes for the salsa
2. Community syrup? 1 syrup bottle FOR THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT
3. Same owners. It used to be Bukanas tacos. You’d think that they’d know to staff the place correctly.
4. Good latte. A little sweet, but good.
5. Good pancakes, but no syrup.
6. Server guy. He was picking up tables, cleaning and serving. The guy was kind, patient, he was trying. Owners, this man needs a raise! And help!
7. Wait time. After ordering at the counter, we waited about 40 minutes. Food came out warm.
8. Self seating. First come first serve. Tables do get taken immediately if you’re not sitting at them.
