We stop by oakdale on the way back from our Yosemite day tour and needed something quick for dinner and El Agave really delivers. The Taco was delicious and we got recommended the chicken dish as well which was massive and very tasty ! Highly recommend

The food is consistently decent, although not the best Mexican I’ve had. Good food by Oakdale standards (sorry Oakdale!) The folks working here are friendly and efficient and call regulars by name. The restaurant space was fairly empty when I was there the other day with few people dining in, probably because the restaurant was cold. Still, I was attended to by a kind and friendly server which warmed up the place up in my mind.

The food was good and authentic but I guess I was bummed out that it didn’t have a self-service salsa bar… I know I’m spoiled but I definitely got used to that. And when I ask them for some tomatilla sauce they just didn’t have that. I ordered a regular burrito and it was pretty good, but I like the taste of pico de gallo and cilantro and to me that was missing.
