We ordered the nachos with carne asada, shrimp ceviche, molcajete with everything serving for 2, California roll, and Armando roll.
It was waaayyy too much food for 3 of us and I ate 3 additional meals from these leftovers.
With the exception of the sushi (I didn’t eat the sushi), everything I ate I absolutely loved and will one day be fortune enough to visit again.
Don’t skip out on the nachos. They were fabulous. The meat was so tender and the whole dish was flavorful and not too salty.
I had this grilled octopus appetizer and wish I had two of those.
My shrimp cocktail was fantastic but, I still think of the octopus appetizer.
Service could be better.
The girls are too busy chatting behind the bar and being cool.
Armando’s lures you in with bs advertising. The following is what is advertised by Armando’s on the internet
“Armando’s Restaurant + Bar (San Jose): Offers $1.50 street tacos on Tuesdays.”
When you arrive and ask for the Taco Special advertised, staff responds, “we don’t have that special anymore”. Then they proceed to try and sell you something you don’t want and much more expensive.
Bad business practices, avoid this trash restaurant.
All the makings of a great meal
Original review:
This place was AMAZING!! Their molcajete mixto (comes with shrimp, chicken, and steak) was mouth-watering DELICIOUS
Their micheladas were soooooo good! With just the right amount of lime and spices, this one was so refreshin, and it didn’t feel like I was burning my stomach from being too spicy. Their Corita drink was soooo bomb, made out of guayava mmmmm. Soooo good. And let’s not forget Their MEXICAN tequila! Iykyk that there IS a difference. Yall need to run to Armandos and get u some bomb food fix the whole staff and owners were so sweet and welcoming. Gracias por todo ❤️
What I like about this place is that it is not gimmicky like most Tropicana. They don’t pour drinks into weird cups. You get a traditional cantarito and a well made drink. Not some sugar rush from sweet syrup.
