We’re fans of Parlor and have visited several locations in Indiana, Ohio and Illinois. We recently moved back to Houston and had been to the Yale street location. While shopping at Kroger, we were excited to see a Parlor and picked up three layered donuts: maple bacon, raspberry pistachio, and turtle cheesecake.

Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. While these are marketed as layered donuts, the ones we received were very doughy and lacked the texture we’ve come to expect. None of our friends were impressed and mentioned they tasted like yeast donuts. It made us wonder if there may be an issue with the dough.

Additionally, the team member who assisted us, Dancy, was cold and unfriendly. When we asked which donuts had fillings, she simply pointed at the display without explanation, which was disappointing from a customer service standpoint.

Overall, this experience did not reflect the quality or service we’ve come to expect from Parlor Doughnuts.

Wow! I really think these donuts are better than Voodoo. They hold up better the next day as well. We got 4 different ones, and the chocolate chocolate was my favorite. The French toast, the Keto Powdered Sugar snd the Coconut Glazed. I would definitely return, the service was excellent, would like to try a breakfast sandwich or coffee too. They were based out of Indiana, and glad they are in Houston.

Today is 11/3/25. I usually love this place because they have keto friendly options…HOWEVER…the presentation of the keto donuts is pretty bad like they just DO NOT care! It took me a minute to even figure out which was which. Anyways won’t be back to this location. Horrible. The Heights location is great.

Btw…these are supposed to be 1 seasonal cinnamon cheesecake keto and 2 keto maple glazed. I should have known when the lady came from the back and pretty much tossed the box (which was filthy with icing and oil stains) on to the counter to the young lady working in front.

It’s different. I had the Mardi gras cream cheese cinnamon filled donut and caramel macchiato. My Mardi gras donut was perfect

Cute place with really good coffee. My husband says the regular donuts are phenomenal but the GF ones were kinda meh (I didn’t even finish the second one :/). I think it’s a symptom of places trying to make the GF option a one stop shop (also vegan, etc). I wish they would just use dairy and eggs instead of making us all suffer through a plant-based donut experience. Staff were friendly though and I would come back for the coffee.

Parlor Doughnuts in West U is amazing! The doughnuts are light, flaky, and full of flavor – easily some of the best in Houston. They have a great variety of unique flavors along with classics, and everything tastes super fresh. The coffee pairs perfectly, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely my go-to spot for a sweet treat in West U!

I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners today and she was so kind and welcoming. The shop itself looked immaculate and well put together.

I tried the apple pie doughnut, and it was incredible—the whipped cream was light and airy, not overly dense, and the doughnut itself had a charming balance of apple and cinnamon glazed throughout.

I’ll definitely be coming back for the grand opening tomorrow! I also love that they offer keto-friendly pastries, which is a great option for friends who want to enjoy a treat while keeping to their goals.

My friend and I have come here several times and we enjoy the food. The issue we have is with the young lady behind the counter who was passive aggressive about taking our order. My friend ordered a sandwich and it was missing the egg that was supposed to be on the sandwich. Rather than being nice about it she was very dismissive and hastily prepared a single egg and wrapped it in foil instead of just placing it on the sandwich, the experience was honestly pretty mortifying and if it weren’t for such good food, we probably wouldn’t eat here at all. I’ve seen other reviews of this location and a lot of them tend to say the same thing that the young lady behind the counter is unfriendly, passive, aggressive, and generally just does not enjoy doing the one thing that she is there to do which is hand donuts, and prepare the food we even tipped. I’m not even sure what upset her today but clearly it was enough to impact the way, she interacts with customers.

They look like they are out of donuts when you walk in because the case is empty. Turns out they prepare them to order. Staff at no personality. A place isn’t very clean and the donuts were mediocre. The keto donut was inedible.
