First time coming here abd must say it wasn’t bad at all. Wasn’t very packed. I thonk maybe two people were working. The waitress was very nice. The food came our pretty quickly. My burrito was delicious. Went with two others who got the tacos and they loved it. I would definitely go again and would recommend. It didn’t come off as tex mex like other Mexican restaurants are in the area.

Taqueria La Mexicana is hands-down one of the best spots in town! Their tacos are incredible, and the carne asada fries are next-level good. Being located right across the street, we eat here pretty frequently — and it never disappoints. Be warned though, their portions are very generous! You might think you can eat it all, but afterward, you’ll be so full you’ll want to take a nap instead of going back to work. Great food, friendly service, and always worth the stop!

This is a true gem among the eateries in Jacksonville. The tacos and horchata are divine and so delicious. The atmosphere is truly that of a family restaurant. We love eating here and have been back at least twice and plan to continue eating here as long as they are open.
You can taste the love and happiness that this family has running this amazing place.

My husband wanted chips and salsa. I ordered it here because we have never been. It ended up being tomatillo salsa which my husband won’t eat because he’s too picky. I’m glad he didn’t try it because It was by far the best I have tried and I had it all to myself! I can’t wait to try other items off the menu!

I’ve come to the realization that we should seek out what truly satisfies our taste. I’ve found a hidden Mexican Gem and I’m just now sharing. I’ve been sneaking in and out for a few months. I speak zero Mexican but im not there for conversation just the Sopes and what I have named 2 day Burritos.
The waitress and cashier(all in one) is adorable. She has broken English but she taught me the correct way to say Sopes and I’ve mastered it. The cooks are making eye contact in between their preparation behind the empty but big food chiller. But you can see they are serious about the preparation. I’m not sure who’s more curious them or me. But I do know they step up the taste each time I return. Because I obviously didn’t select the correct toppings my first time. Now I say 3 Sopes and I minus nothing. The momma back there simply prepared it the way it’s supposed to be eaten and well it’s worth a continued return.
I think ill grab a few sisters one day and bring them along.

Had the pollo burrito. It had a ton of flavor and didn’t require any extra seasoning even though they have a great selection of just in case. The horchata was okay, and the only reason I don’t give full stars. The food was excellent and approved by my well-traveled Latino compadre.

The food was just okay. The service was good. The facility was pretty rough. The seats were torn through, wires popping up into your butt. Horrible. The prices were trending – which considering the facility level of care and qualityof food, the prices were way too high for the way it is [not] taken care of. There was a hair in the nachos too. We spent $75. The chicken in the tacos was dry and chewy. The nachos had the fake cheese, not real cheese. The drinks were bottles, so no refills but for the same price as a place that gives refills.
Probably not go there again.
