Oak & Iron is a fancy little pocket inside beautifully historic Randolph. Everything was exquisite and thoughtful, a perfectly curated experience. Take the advice of making a reservation as the space is small and intimate, and fills up quickly (which makes a lot of sense given how special this place is).

Small, cozy spot and in of all places, Randolph VT. Sound might be a problem for some since the night we were there a table of 4 loud & chatty, “jolly” ladies were not using their inside voices were a bit overpowering while they waited for a table and sat at the bar. Everyone else appeared to be rather respectful of the small quarters. Perhaps the ladies had one too many of those delicious cocktails! The menu is limited, so I would advise checking it before visiting if you’re not a meat eater. I did find a dish suitable and delicious (I might add). My partner was overjoyed with his meal. Aps, salads, entrees – just wonderful. And don’t forget to save room for the lemon posset with that scrumptious blueberry compote! Buddhalicious! Next time we might have to try the tiramisu brulee. Definitely make a reservation as you need to put this restaurant on your go list. Get there a tad early and enjoy a drink at the bar because the staff will make you feel right at home. 5-stars hands down.

Went to Oak and Iron to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We had the beet salad to start, the smoked feta went perfectly with the salad. Usually we have steak or seafood, but this time we had the meatloaf and burger. Our meals were delicious and comforting on a cold winter night! My burger was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The onion jam added just the perfect about of sweetness. My husband loved the crispy exterior of the meatloaf, and the mashed potatoes were soft and velvety. Katie provided great service. This is our third time going to Oak & Iron. We love it! Highly recommend!

My husband and I went for the first time last night for his birthday. What a great little gem of a restaurant! The food was prepared perfectly, portions are enough for two meals, and the service was warm and friendly. We highly recommend Oak & Iron!

Review for Oak & Iron – Randolph, MA
We had a wonderful evening dining at Oak & Iron, where the food and service left a lasting impression. Here’s a breakdown of our experience:
Drinks:
We enjoyed two club sodas and a Djinn Vesper martini. The martini was a thoughtful take on the classic—well-balanced and elegant.
Starters:
• French Onion Soup: The flavor was rich and comforting, though it could’ve been served 5 degrees hotter. The cheese on top lacked some caramelization, which would’ve added a better mouthfeel, and the bread inside could’ve used a firmer toast to hold up in the broth.
• Duck Confit Salad: Well-balanced with a nice interplay of textures and acidity.
Mains:
• Lobster Mac & Cheese: Hands down, the standout of the evening. This dish was remarkable—rich, indulgent, and perfectly executed. Quite honestly, it’s the best lobster mac & cheese I’ve ever had.
• Delmonico Steak (Medium): Arrived lukewarm initially, but our server immediately corrected the issue without hesitation—replacing it with a brand new, hot, and beautifully cooked steak. The tomato confit and roasted potatoes on the side were excellent.
• Filet Mignon (Medium Rare): Cooked perfectly. The truffle mashed potatoes were flavorful but could’ve been served a bit hotter.
Desserts:
• Tiramisu Crème Brûlée: A unique and delightful fusion
• Chocolate Mousse: Decadent, bold, and rich—especially enjoyable for dark chocolate lovers like myself. Some may find it a touch too bitter, but I appreciated its depth and sophistication.
Atmosphere:
Cozy and quintessential, Oak & Iron nails the warm, welcoming vibe you’d expect from a rural steakhouse tavern. From the lighting to the layout, it sets the stage for a comfortable, elevated meal with familiar staples like French onion soup anchoring the menu.
Service:
The staff were attentive, thoughtful, and clearly focused on the guest experience. When I mentioned the Delmonico steak was cold—even after I had eaten a piece—they didn’t hesitate to replace it with care and professionalism. That kind of proactive hospitality is what brings people back.
Final Thoughts:
Despite a few minor tweaks on temperature and texture, the food was overall delicious, and the service was top-tier. The lobster mac & cheese alone is worth the trip. Oak & Iron is a place I’ll be happy to return to again and again.

The restaurant is very nicely remodeled with cozy atmosphere. I had the lamb rack special and it was exactly how I ordered. I don’t like fennel but it did not negatively impact my experience. All of the food was perfect, looking forward to trying the filet mignon
next time! The service was excellent and they even made me a cocktail off-menu.
I was excited to try this new restaurant after hearing about it and I was not let down. Highly recommend 🙂

Oak and Iron in Randolph, VT is absolutely a 5/5 across the board—food, service, and atmosphere! Every dish was outstanding and the staff went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re planning to go—we got lucky and snagged a spot at the bar, but it fills up quickly (for good reason!). A true gem, can’t wait to come back.

Excellent service and food. Reservations are recommended. I was lucky they had burgers on the special menu. The bartender was very professional and made me a margarita with Ghost tequila and Milagro tequila. Yum. The meat is local. The fish is sourced from Boston.

I went to Oak and Iron last night, and I was really in love! We shared mussels as a group as well as the avocado salad, for my main dish I ordered the duck, to say I was blown away is an understatement. I really enjoy duck but it is hard to find where it is cooked well my poor friends were sick of hearing me talk about how good it was for hours after. (Would highly recommend) The space is super inviting and the service was amazing and friendly. I will definitely be going back! Welcome to town Oak and Iron.
