Second time going since being back in town and I wasn’t disappointed. Chicken Egg Foo Young was great and more than filling. The Bourbon Chicken, another good choice and the Egg Rolls were fresh, Fried Rice didn’t disappoint either. Will be returning to try the the Seafood section.

We decided to try China Kitchen tonight for dinner. We got the dinner for 2 and it could easily feed 4. It looked really good and tasted even better. The egg rolls were really good and packed. Price? Very reasonable. Quiet and cozy inside. Give this place a try, very enjoyable food.

I remember going to China Kitchen many, many years ago under the previous manager/owner. She was very nice and her restaurant was a frequent stop for me and my hubby. Well, the previous manager/owner is gone and although the restaurant has had a few minor changes that I can tell in the décor, it is dated but it is clean and welcoming. The restrooms are updated and clean. The waitress is very friendly and professional and set our table just right. Now, to the food. It is awesome and the portions are wonderful – you will certainly need a carryout box. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan and my hubby had the House Wonton soup along with Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp and OMG the food was delicious. The previous manager/owner would be proud of the legacy continued in her restaurant and food. We love it and will visit frequently.

The almond chicken and wonton soup were actually very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were amazing. The establishment itself is a bit out dated and beat down. The service was okay at best the employees looked like they were ready to leave for the night. Solid Chinese spot though.

I moved here from out of state a few months ago and I’ve been in here probably 10 times because it’s close to my home and its easier than cooking for one sometimes. I would encourage anyone eating here to check the price of the items they ordered as well as the total on your bill. I had noticed money slyly added on to my entrée. I checked the menu online and the paper copy in the restaurant. The price reflects shady business tactics. I also don’t want to hear any crap on price difference for eating in or “dinner” when absolutely nothing in the building or the menu states being scalped for eating in.

I will just eat at New Asian Star literally around the corner from now on.

The edit of this review is simply to reflect an appropriate response for those reading it. There are no signs in or around the outside of the building saying they secretly add money to your entrée for eating in. In fact, after they add it on without saying anything, they also include an area for tips upon receipt.

Yes, some places do add a gratuity for LARGE parties. There was literally two people eating in. I was one of the two.

It must be difficult to wash a total of four plates. I’m sure your feeble fingers need an absorbent amount of rest. I have a problem when you scalp my wallet and others with shady business tactics when it’s hard enough as it is. This lady sits down in the back booth and plays games on her phone loud enough to identify what game she is playing.

I tip. I even tipped her knowing she was shady and it would be my last time there. I tipped her 2 dollars which was less than I normally give her. Why give her more when she is already stealing it? My child under 2 appreciates the 70$+ you snatched from her mouth.

Your restaurant is in a dead complex outside of 2 businesses. You’re not in Manhattan, Los Angeles, or Singapore. It may be standard practice in the industry if you’re shady to skim. I looked at my receipts from New Asian Star and House of Chan–they are not thieves.

Asking if everything is good once is what earns a tip. It’s not the go ahead to $TEAL.

Almond chicken had no almonds, and the ssuce was dark and bland. Also brought a wrong cup of soup: egg drop instead of wonton.

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. We clearly asked our server for chicken in one dish and shrimp in the other. However, both dishes were brought out with shrimp. When we addressed this with the server, she insisted that chicken was never requested, despite multiple members of our family recalling otherwise. This was particularly concerning as I have a seafood allergy.

The server offered no immediate solution, did not apologize, and did not initially offer to remake the dish. There was an extended period of time where she simply stood there without resolving the issue. Eventually, the dish was taken back and replaced, but the new meal was extremely dry and poorly prepared.

Throughout the remainder of our visit, we felt uncomfortable due to staff hovering near our table and speaking about us within earshot, which made the entire experience very unpleasant. Because of this, none of us were able to fully enjoy or finish our meals.

Given how long my family and I have been loyal customers at this location, this level of service was unacceptable. Dining out is expensive, and while mistakes can happen, customers should never be treated this way or served food of such poor quality. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning.
