The portion sizes are smaller than it also used to be and it’s just not worth it with the increasing prices. We paid $40 for a lobster and it was super tiny and would definitely not get it again. Next time the only thing I would get is probably a late night platters for a quick bite because even the full size platters are basically the same size as a late night. That tofu platter was the regular full size, but there was so little. I can’t believe they CHARGE for soy sauce with peppers?!? That’s insane, and it just seems so greedy. Like they had no basic seasoning on the table?!?
When we got the bill, there was already 18% tip tacked on which was never there before when we used to eat out and the tip included the TAXED amount on top of the food bill, which is really weird and doesn’t make sense. Like, why am I tipping on tax? My family always tips well, but that soured the mood along with the meager portions.
We also realized that after we left that they said on the receipt, there was six guest, but there was only five people in our party. This might have been why they tacked on the tip amount? It just goes to show that they don’t really care about guests anymore.
It’s hard to support these older restaurants if they keep on doing things like that, because I would rather go to new Chinatown square and the newer restaurants at this point- because at least I know what I’m paying for.
If you think Panda Express has “good Chinese food” you have got to be kidding is what you will say once you had their’s. Seriously. Their food gives off a nostalgic, nice homecooked meal whenever I am too lazy to cook or just missing it after growing up with my Chinese heritage/background. Parking sucks for sure given they are located on a small street. Not wheelchair accessible/friendly entrance as they do have a flight of stairs up once you enter the building. No elevators in the building. So bring some strong people to lift your elders and anyone who needs help with those stairs because it will worth the effort! Esp the walk over from wherever you can find parking in Chinatown! Lol
Most business owners come here after they close their stores or restaurant.
Foods are fresh, hot and delicious.
We order stir fry garlic pea pod, fry shrimp, crispy quail, beef with bitter melon, come with white rice and soup.
Service is good too.
I recommend you to come here and enjoy.
We decided to get the set dinner meal for like 10 people. It comes with a good mix of food to satisfy everyone’s craving. The food was pretty standard and not too greasy. The family set menu also comes with some soup before the meal and red bean soup for dessert. Both are pretty standard for a Chinese dinner.
Nothing great to look at but who is looking when the food is FANTASTIC. The fish was so soft like butter. The porkchop was sweet (maybe too much, but perfect for kids). Beef and veggies were tasty. Lobster was nothing special but for the price, not bad!
Go to spot to always bring large groups of family, or to show up at 2AM drunk to eat with friends!
