Lurgy hit both us at end of November, so we rescheduled my birthday celebration to January.

Zhima is a Chinese Brasserie and Bar and I can thoroughly recommend it. Best Shanghai beef dish and may I say the best Chinese meal I’ve ever ate.

It was a shame that the old signature cocktail Cigar Vending Machine was no longer, however the IQ with Tin Cup Whiskey, Plum Sake, lemon and fig was a great replacement.

Service was outstanding and if you sign up free to being a member, you get 40% off food in January

Amazing lunch menu 2 courses £18.95. Food was delicious we had prawn toast & veg spring rolls to start and then honey chilli chicken & sweet n sour chicken with rice and noodles yum. Cocktails reasonably priced, a bit different and tasted great. Staff lovely and service excellent. We will be back

Four of us went for a meal last night. The restaurant itself looks classy and well set out with booths etc so it feels special.
The food was very very nice everyone had something different and all really enjoyed it.
The waitress was extremely knowledgeable on all food on the menu which is rare in restaurants nowadays, she was very helpful and a credit to you I wish I had her name.
Thank you for a great night

The food is tasty. Feels classy and rich ambience inside, they have got good selection of vegetarian food also (though limited) but at least there and tasty too.

Portion size was also good. I tried Hakka noodles.

Good selection of drinks on the menu. Didn’t disappoint.

Staff is courteous and professional.

Overall branding and ambience I would rate higher, really calm and soothing.

I had a great dining experience overall. The prawn starter was amazing—full of flavour and beautifully prepared—and the main course was just as good, very tasty and satisfying. The ambience was lively and enjoyable, which may have been influenced by dining on a Saturday evening, adding to the buzz of the place as we dined aa a group of 7 and rest of the restaurant seemed filled, that said, the restaurant also offers some lovely, more intimate settings, making it a great choice whether you’re looking for a a vibrant night out or a quieter, more personal setting with your food.

If you’re looking for the intimate seats, ask for a booth.

So it’s Fusion, what did I expect? Plus most of my Chinese food experience is Chinese-American. Still, the chili orange chicken is not nearly as good as, say, Panda Express orange chicken. Very gooey and soggy.

Beijing curry beef? Probably no such thing. Similar to a Japanese beef curry (but not as good).

I don’t know what they are thinking with their egg fried rice. Uncle Roger would trash it more than Gordon Ramsay’s.

This spicy scallops were great.

The drinks were tasty and creative, if spendy.

If you have ever had the real taste of Chinese food and cared and liked it, this will not be the place to go. All the dishes are incredibly altered and, in my narrow mind, it’s altered for the worse. It’s American style Chinese food and might have good cocktail. It might be perfectly good-taste for British idk, in that case, I apologize for being overly judgemental.

Tasty food, friendly staff, beautifully decorated setting with a nice atmosphere. I found the noodles a little under seasoned. Everything else was very tasty. Pet peeve, though, asked if we’d like water as we’re sitting down, only to be brought a bottle, instead of tap when Scotland has the best water in the world, why would a pay a fiver for something that free. This felt like a bit of a scam. Watch out for this, don’t assume.

My husband treated me to dinner here after some Christmas shopping. Food and drinks were incredible, especially the Christmas cocktails which went down too well! Probably why our bill was so big!

If anything we found the place a bit dark which made for a good atmosphere but just a little more light would have been nice to see the lovely delights on our plates.

It’s a wee bit expensive for what is essentially fine dining takeaway food as others have said but we loved the experience anyway.

Recommend for date night or with friends!

The place is spacious and comfortable. It’s beautifully decorated. Fine for group gathering.
We only ordered small dishes as the rice or noodles dishes are too filling for the two of us.
The braised pork and prawn toast are perfect. The fat in the pork is cooked in the classic Chinese style, which is not too greasy or heavy. The toast was crunchy.
All dishes are presented in an eye catching manner.
The waitress is so kind to move us to a bigger table after we have expressed our feelings about the crowdedness of the table.
However the sous chef seems to have gone for a break after the first two dishes.
The remaining dishes, though as appealing as the previous ones, seemed to have prepared by an apprentice. All taste similar. Every savoury dish has been turned into dessert. It’s the sweet duck sauce dish after dish. The scallops would have been at their prime a few days earlier. The soup feels like consuming sauce, so it was barely touched.
The control in the right amount of sugar is vital. Also, need to pay attention to the texture of the food. It makes all the difference between good and mediocre.
