I visited House Kitchen & Bar last week for a work event, and the experience was impressive from start to finish. Organizing or attending corporate gatherings can often be hit-or-miss regarding hospitality, but the staff here was outstanding. They were professional, genuinely polite, and friendly, ensuring our group was well taken care of throughout the evening.
The highlight of the night, however, was the food. I ordered the short rib dinner, and it was nothing short of amazing. The execution of the dish was perfect—flavorful and tender enough that I genuinely wished I could have ordered seconds or even thirds.
If you are looking for a venue that combines high-quality cuisine with attentive, A+ service, I highly recommend dining at this establishment. It is a fantastic choice for both business functions and personal dining in Sacramento.

Our server was wonderful during our lunch visit. The owner stopped by & is very nice & personable. The chicken lettuce wraps were a fav at our table as an appetizer that the three of us shared prior to ordering lunch. It’s a generous portion. The grilled chicken sandwich & the chuck burger we’re tasty. The fries & sweet potato fries were perfect. The honey glazed salmon was delicious & paired well with seasonal veggies & mashed potatoes. We’re coming back for happy hour since it runs from 4-8pm with a pretty tasty menu selection. Not pictured is the blackberry margarita. It was refreshing & mixed just right. Cheers to starting off Monday right!

8/2024 tried fillet mignon this time, which came with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes that were really good. But the steak itself was chewy even as medium.

Good food, good service. Highly recommend the prime rib French dip and the grilled salmon entree.

Basker Hobbins from the Hopscotch Ranch and I were in Sactown with a couple of relief pitchers properly equipped with a full sack of freshly set cow pies..still wet in the center and easy to throw, and about a half sack of dirt clods all from his ranch, with a single mission…make the day miserable for a few politicians!
The House Kitchen & Bar was perfectly situated, not only would we enjoy some amazing food, but we’d be able to prioritize our targets with our bull pin, and watch the fun in real time. Man-O-Man…The House Kitchen was a great decision, the food was spectacular as was the service! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ ! But…that sidewalk! Be careful where you step.

“The best french dip in Sacramento – period”

Quite a bold statement on the menu for the Prime-rib french dip and I was intrigued. Admittedly I don’t have any real experience with french dip, so I honestly wouldn’t know any better, but when we asked our server what she recommended and the French dip was her response. There was no other choice. My two compatriots and I embarked on the challenge of the best French Dip in Sacramento.

All levity aside, this sandwich was great. While I don’t have a basis for comparison, I really enjoyed the cuts of prime rib and the crunch onion rings sandwiched between two pieces of sourdough. The mayo and Swiss cheese really tie it all together and it joined the clean plate club for me I can’t comment on if it is truly the best, but being my first it wins by default! The fries were also really good quality but the sandwich was the star of the show.

It was a pretty busy day but service was relatively quick and our server was really attentive. We were seated right next to the window and despite being really busy, it was too loud. Located within the Bank of America building the attached bathroom was clean and their is an Old Soul Cafe right across the building.

Will definitely visit again for drinks and an early dinner!

I didn’t know this place existed until I was looking for a different spot to take my friend to. Parking was convenient as it was in a garage. They validate an hour. With regards to food, the salmon, spicy shrimp pasta and braised short ribs were all delicious !!! The guy who served us our food was very friendly and attentive. I didn’t get his name. Great atmosphere as well. Will try outdoors when it gets much cooler.

Ahhh I loved this place! I went and sat outside with a friend during happy hour and their food menu is so delicious! They have options for 6, 7, 8 and 9$. But please whatever you do, get the corn tamale cakes for 6$, they were so good I ordered a second one and the sliders were delicious as well!

The setting is so cute outside, they have Christmas lights wrapped around the trees on the sidewalk so it makes for lovely pictures and general lighting. Service was 10/10 very helpful and the cocktails were dangerously good. Definitely recommend and will be taking more friends next time!

My friend and I decided to come eat here after finishing watching the kings game and it wasn’t disappointing, the servers were nice and checked up on us if we needed anything or if we were okay. The food was great. My friend had the burgers and fries which she loved while I had the braised beef short rib, mashed potatoes, Demi-glacé with Brussels spouts. It was very good, so tender and buttery! The atmosphere of the place is beautiful. I will be coming back again to try other foods!

It appears the City of Sacramento has soon a nice job at providing food and drink establishments around the Golden 1 Center-House Kitchen & Bar is one of them. Within a block of the center situated in the lower floor of an office tower, I found House Kitchen & Bar convenient. They won out on other establishments because I could make a reservation. There’s a bar with high stools as you enter and a see thru to kitchen as you head toward the dining area. Service was prompt and friendly. We chose a pomegranate cocktail and their version of an old fashion. Both were good not spectacular. Requests we made to our meals (steak and French dip) were spot on and followed up by the server-an added plus to service. The French dip came with bottomless fries however I did not partake in the offer. Our experience was good. Check the “inside” pics others have posted to get a feel for the ambiance. They were spot on. A brightly lit dining room, not so cozy or intimate but served the purpose of grabbing a good tasting meal served by professional staff. Restrooms were clean and in the business center lobby.
