Lots of people have difficulties with certain types of food not digesting well. I try to not make a fuss, just eating what I know I can. But when it comes to needing sustenance that will not twist your gut into knots, for me that’s protein. My body doesn’t digest a lot of vegetables.
And barbecue kind of gets all clumped together as being some kind of smoked meat with a slathering of sweet or spicy sauce with cold sides. But smoked meat and barbecue sauce are not the same thing. Billy Sims’ smoked meat is divine. The ribs are succulent, slightly caramelized from the flame, you add sauce if you want but I don’t need it. This meat is good. That means they buy a good quality of meat and they know how to cook it.
Their sides are yummy, although I can only personally speak to the potato salads and the mac and cheese because everything else is inedible to me. Those are tasty! But I don’t go there for the sides. I go there for the meat.
I think some of us are throwbacks to previous evolutions, because there’s no doubt in my mind I’m a carnivore. I don’t care what anybody else eats, that’s their business, but come from my ribs and we’ll have to have a chat outside.

I called in advance and placed an order on Monday to be picked up on Wednesday afternoon between 2:00 and 3:00. I wanted to give them plenty of notice since it was a large order so they would have plenty of notice about how much food they would need to prepare and so they could have it ready when I arrived. When I got to the store today at 2:45 the ladies behind the counter were both talking to a customer who they obviously knew personally. They did not greet me or speak to me when I came in so I just stood in line quietly. After I had been waiting much too long the customer said “ you can go ahead and help him so he doesn’t have to keep waiting “. The girl behind the counter said “ no I don’t want to. He can just wait “. When they finally did help me I was told I would need to come back in about 40 minutes because they had not put my order together yet and they didn’t have enough brisket already cooked. That was the whole reason I called ahead!! When I asked why they hadn’t put my order together earlier since they knew I was coming she shrugged and said i have been busy today so I just didn’t get around to it. When I came back an hour later one of the girls was just leaning on the counter and one was slicing the brisket. My order still had not been put together. Once again no one spoke to me and there was one customer in front of me so I stood quietly and waited. I guess the one who wasn’t doing anything finally noticed me and she started putting my order in a sack. I finally made it out with my food. I don’t think all of this would have been so bad if they would have at least been friendly and apologetic. They 100% just lost a customer.

Great place for quick quality and quantity food. Haven’t been there in awhile because they quit giving pickles when you go through the drive thru. 5/5/23 went tonight when we got home the side orders were less than a 1/4 full we got 2 pickle chips for two orders the turkey was two small slices the sausage dinner had three pieces and was cold and the toast was cold and chewy the turkey dinner was $17,89 and the sausage dinner was $15.85 just not worth it for the price or quantity. We do have enough onions to last a couple of days.

I hate this because we usually had good experiences in the past. But the 3 times we’ve been here this year has been awful. I did contact the owner the first time and he was very nice and sent a gift card to make up for the issues. However, the two times we went since then we had a missing side the first visit. Today I asked for spicy sauce and got no sauce at all and no silverware or napkins which is very typical at this location. I don’t think they’ve given either of those things in at least a year or so. I usually take it home so not that big of a deal with the fork or napkins but bbq sauce or sides are kind of a big deal. I think we won’t be back.

The food was delicious. The pulled pork is perfect for their sides of potato salad and the baked beans not only are good but they also are on the larger side of a side dish. Plants of space for parking when compared to the size of the restaurant.

I think most people love BBQ. I had sliced beef with 2 sides Cole slaw for me. Both. BBQ is good. Atmosphere is nice and the people are friendly. I liked it. I have eaten there before also.

We ordered 3 meals for DD. I’m certain when you eat in the restaurant they give you way more in portion size than take-out. Not only did my “sliced brisket ” have chopped brisket but there wasn’t even enough meat to cover the entire bun. My potato salad that came with the meal was watery and looked as if it had been sitting way too long on the counter instead of the usually fresh creamy style that is usually served inside. One of our other meals was supposed to have “chopped brisket” but it had shredded beef (or pork, not sure which) on the baked potato. And the 3rd meal also didn’t have a good portion of meat on the bun either. It’s sad when you pay a decent price but the restaurant isn’t respectable enough to care about the quality of food they serve.
