I even had to bring some home and can’t stop eating!
Their quality starts with their cooking oil. They don’t use cheap soybean-based “vegetable oil.” For those of us sensitive to soy in all its forms, even the oil, this is a true gift. It continues with thoughtful and personal service from everyone in the front of the house.
We have eaten there several times and never been disappointed. In fact, we have found ourselves delighted and sometimes surprised.
Take last night for example. We went there for dinner intending to order chicken tandoori, baigan bharta and bhindi masala, plus rice and papadum (for me, strictly gluten free due to celiac disease) and naan (for him, fortunate man with only his conscience to restrict him). These are some of our favorites. We did order the baigan bharta and the bhindi masala (which, by the way, has to be one of the best in the city). But we also ordered two of the night’s specials: crabmeat curry and fish molee. They sounded as if they would be stellar and they absolutely were. The crabmeat curry was shelless lump crab meat mixed throughout the seasoned sauce. The fish molee was made with Alaskan cod, which will change based on what is available seasonally. Although both dishes were coconut milk-based, they did not taste at all the same. They were such elegant dishes that we were really happy to hear that they are going to be permanently added to the menu. I know it sounds like some kind of advertising (and I’m not anything but a customer, not any kind of influencer), but I can honestly say that sharing these two entrees along with the vegetables, rice and papadum and naan elevated our evening into something special. And we have leftovers to look forward to!
The manager cut my friend off mid-sentence, dismissed her with a rude hand gesture, and didn’t even listen to what she had to say. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, and I’m deeply disappointed by the way my friend was treated.
The food quality and portion sizes are inconsistent. We ordered a variety of dishes, but many were overly salty and lacked flavor.
The service and the food made the night feel special.
Maybe it’s different for customers who dine in, but I will definitely not be ordering takeout from here again.
For Starters we had the chicken Kathi roll and the aloo aam tikka. The filing for the Kathi roll was good but however the chutney with which it was served didn’t justify it. The Aloo aam Tikka was ok however.
The naan that was serverd was really fresh and were good portion size.
Didn’t like the bhindi masala as there were some bhindi that wasn’t cooked will And was very hard.
The akbari kofta was howver really good.
The chicken masala was suggested to us by the owner and it was totally worth it.
Overall the food is really good here definitely worth a visit.
The owner is really friendly and the service is also very good.
