The staff was amiable and responsive, it was a quite nice dinner.
The menu is very simple and very affordable. The tacos are like 4.75 each and there’s a large variety of meat options. They also had quite an extensive drink menu.
I ordered the quesabirria tacos, and they were phenomenal. It came out piping hot, and was really tasty. The consommé was strong but didn’t completely overpower the natural flavors of the meat. The shell held together the whole time and didn’t make a mess in my hands. I was also very impressed with the two dollar salsa, it had a little bit of a kick to it which was a nice surprise.
My service was really fast and all of the servers were extremely polite. The interior of the restaurant is super cool, especially the huge hole in the wall that allows people watching. I really enjoyed the small parts of the experience two, like the tile tables and the weaved chip baskets. They also had plenty of seating options, including some seats on the outside of the bar.
This is one of my new favorite spots in D.C and I can’t recommend it enough!
Came here during peak rush hour in D.C. The tacos and drinks were both awesome. I highly recommend the beef quesobirria taco specifically – mine was fantastic. Also recommended to sit by the window as you eat and engage in some top-notch people-watching; the vibe in this neighborhood is very cool and busy.
Of all the taco stands in all the world, this one is at the top of my list.
The drinks are varied, creative, well presented, and delicious.
The atmosphere is eccentric and laid back, metal chairs and basic wood tables over finished concrete floor, the walls and ceilings decorated and painted in vibrant colors.
The garage door style window at the front with the people watching bar to sit at is incredible on a warm admo night.
And the food is just beyond perfect. The elote is on point, grilled perfectly, topped with the traditional cojita and creama, and all their tacos are fire. My favorites are the al pastor and lengua, but the chicken and pork based ones are equally delicious. Served on a corn tortilla, Street style with onions, Cilantro, reddish, and lime, with sides of their hot sauces, just perfection. Will and do go again and again. 10/10, woukd recommend!
The menu is jot extensive like some other Mexican places, so no burritos or tamales, but what they do offer should be filling enough for you. We came on a Friday night, and it was pretty busy, but there luckily was no wait.
We ordered margaritas, one spicy and the other frozen, that were perfect for the hot summer day. The difference between tacos was the protein present. I went with two different styles of pork and one beef. All of them were delicious and gave us the fuel for a whole lot of walking.
