Rogue Diner
My recent visit to this Durant restaurant left me with mixed impressions. The space itself is clean with a nice bright atmosphere and the overall ambiance is pleasant especially in a town where elevated dining options are limited.

Service, however, missed the mark. Our server seemed new, which I truly hope was the case, because despite the restaurant being slow, drink refills were difficult to get and our food took far too long to arrive. By the time our meals made it to the table, it was clear they had been sitting in the window unattended. The chicken on my plate was hot, waffle cool, and the egg plate had already cooled completely.

The bright spot of the meal was the fried okra—served hot, crispy, and easily the best-prepared item we tasted. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t match that quality. For the price, the value simply wasn’t there.

While the restaurant offers a nicer atmosphere than most local options, the service and food execution need improvement. I will say the employees do have a positive energy which is pleasant and refreshing.

I only visited once and some of the other reviews show a positive reflection so this is why I am considering I may have come in on an off day for the restaurant.

This was such a great experience! Even more wonderful was that almost everything on the menu that night was gluten free. That’s normally a hardship, but at The Artisan it was a blessing. ❤️ Thank you for a wonderful Valentine Dinner with my sweet hubby.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The space is beautifully designed, modern, classic, and very inviting and the food was delicious with perfectly sized portions. The service was attentive throughout, and the manager’s professionalism and genuine hospitality truly made the visit feel special. I will definitely be returning. ✨

The Artisan is one of those rare places that gets everything right atmosphere, flavor, and community spirit. Located inside the charming Brick Street Hotel, it offers a cozy yet elevated dining experience that feels both special and familiar. Whether you’re stopping in for brunch, lunch, or dinner, you’re in for a treat.

Lunch was around $15 per person, and every plate was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. From the golden omelet and crispy potatoes to the juicy burger with fresh toppings, everything tasted as good as it looked. And dinner? Their steak was rich, tender, and worth the splurge. If you’re not in the mood for something upscale, they offer adorable, approachable options that are just as satisfying—like their French dip sandwich with house-made chips and au jus that hits all the comfort food notes.

But what truly makes The Artisan shine is their commitment to the Durant community. The owner, Teddy is a consistent supporter of local events and causes—most recently providing breakfast for the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce Coffee Network in September. That kind of generosity speaks volumes. It’s clear they’re not just serving food they’re serving people.

The staff is just as impressive friendly, attentive, and actively involved in the community. You’ll often see them participating in local happenings, supporting other small businesses, and making sure every guest feels welcome. Their warmth adds to the overall experience and makes you want to come back again and again.

I’m proud to support The Artisan and grateful to have a place like this in Durant. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just grabbing a bite, this is a restaurant that feeds more than your appetite it feeds your sense of connection.

If you are thinking about coming then just go here. Amazing food, service, and a great price. They actually all hand signed a card for us. Our waitress was Elli and she was perfect! Went here for our anniversary. The food was beyond anything else in town. Everyone acknowledged our anniversary. This was our first time here, but we will come back often. They left rose petals and a candle out for us.

We needed a last minute, top shelf charcuterie board for a small get together. Walmart wasn’t going to do, so I called Artisan….Chandler took care of us like a hero. I dropped off a charcuterie board, and in less than an hour, he made sure it had ALL the fixins wrapped in cellophane and chilled.

The cocktails are perfectly crafted with homemade syrups and fresh herbs and juices, elevating your average bar experience. The menu is full of fresh interesting selections. Servers are attentive and intentional. Amazing atmosphere and decor. Truly a different experience than what Durant previously had to offer. Pricing does reflect the locally sourced ingredients and house made elements, but it is truly worth trying for the enriching experience they offer.

What a beautiful place with amazing food and service! We biked down and met a friend for brunch…everything was delicious! Drinks were perfectly paired with “from scratch” menu items!

Wish we would have left room for some sweet crepes! They looked tasty!

From the moment you step through the historic doors, you’re wrapped in charm, intention, and elevated hospitality. The ambiance is a perfect blend of timeless elegance and modern comfort—with thoughtful details in every corner.

The cocktail program is truly next-level—garden-to-glass and carefully curated. You can taste the care in every sip, especially with house-made syrups, infused spirits, and seasonally inspired ingredients straight from the garden. The Lavender Bee’s Knees and the Botanica creation? Absolute standouts.

The staff is warm, knowledgeable, and clearly trained with a heart for service. Whether you’re popping in for a date night or bringing out-of-town guests for a unique experience, The Artisan delivers every time.

It’s more than a restaurant—it’s a labor of love that leaves a lasting impression.

An elegant, upscale spot with stunning chandeliers and delicious food! I especially loved the vegan omelette paired with a plant-based patty—so satisfying.

The mocktails were incredibly refreshing and full of flavor. Looking forward to going back for brunch with some friends.

The perfect restaurant to visit—especially if you’re staying right upstairs at the Brick Street Hotel.
