This place is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is top-notch, with just the right amount of people during the weekdays when my colleagues and I visited. We had a reservation, but even if you decide to drop by on a weekday, there’s plenty of space available. We started off with some cocktails. The server mixed up my order at first, but quickly corrected it and didn’t charge me for the mistake. I particularly enjoyed the lychee martini and espresso martini. The drinks were expertly crafted and packed a punch. We also tried the Ramen and sushi, both of which were delicious. The Ramen had a flavorful broth, and the sushi rolls were perfectly made. Our server was new to the restaurant, but he was attentive and helpful with all of our inquiries. I highly recommend this spot for a romantic date night, a casual hangout with coworkers, or a fun weekend outing with friends. Just be prepared for a lively crowd on weekends!

Beautifully executed plates, great fish quality, but missing a few key fundamentals.
Mt. Fuji is one of the cleanest, most modern sushi restaurants I’ve visited in Indianapolis. The space is bright and inviting, and importantly — there’s no fishy smell when you walk in. That alone sets the tone that they take freshness seriously.
The presentation of every dish was genuinely impressive. Plates arrive like works of art: balanced, colorful, and thoughtfully styled. The fish quality absolutely delivers — clean cuts, perfect temperature, and some of the best Kumamoto oysters I’ve had anywhere in Indiana.
Service was another standout. Our server, Marion, was knowledgeable, warm, and made the experience feel elevated without ever being stuffy. He truly hit it out of the park.
Where Mt. Fuji falls short — and what keeps it from being a truly exceptional sushi destination — is the execution of the rice and seasonings.
-The nigiri rice isn’t seasoned, which leaves the bite a little flat despite excellent fish.
-The maki rolls have the same issue: well-built but lacking the acidity and subtle sweetness that seasoned sushi rice should bring.
-Traditional nigiri also typically includes a small layer of wasabi between the fish and rice, which was missing.
Because the ingredients are high quality, the missed fundamentals create a flavor experience that’s good but not quite as dynamic or balanced as it could be.
Overall, Mt. Fuji is clean, modern, beautifully plated, and rooted in quality — it’s just a few technique refinements away from being one of the best sushi restaurants in the city.

During our trip to Indianapolis, my husband and I stopped at Mt. Fuji for a late lunch. The restaurant was fairly busy, but there was still plenty of seating available, so we were seated right away. The atmosphere itself is nice, but our experience was a bit mixed.
Our server felt a little rushed and didn’t really check in with us or ask if we needed anything, which made the service feel impersonal. We both ordered the Hibachi bento lunches, and while the portions were good, the presentation wasn’t what we expected. The food was served in plastic trays, which didn’t keep the food warm and didn’t really match the style or look of the restaurant. I also ordered hot tea and was surprised when it came in a foam cup—I was expecting a teapot and cup, given the setting.
On the positive side, the sushi was really good and definitely the highlight of the meal.
Overall, Mt. Fuji had some nice elements and tasty sushi, but a few details in service and presentation kept it from being a great dining experience.

The service is welcoming. The look is aesthetically pleasing. My husband enjoyed the seaweed salad and sake. The lemon drop martini was refreshing. You can purchase the chopsticks for $10. We will be back!

Big portion of the house salad and delicious dressing (like you might need to ask for more). The shrimp tempura roll was so dang good and huge – very reasonably priced and very good option for those not very sushi-venturous. The breading used really made it, and had so much cucumber and avocado stuffed in it! The hibachi chicken was also very reasonably priced and a large portion and flavorful and tender. Atmosphere is good – open space and not too loud. The service could use some work lol We were dealing with four different people during the course of our meal. It seems like once we got started with the main course, none of the four remembered we were there. Overall definitely will return! Tokyo tea was great too! Thx

Excellent!! Everything was really great, some of the best sushi we’ve had. The server was great, and met all of our requests! The atmosphere is really cool. The boba was so delicious. So were the desserts. Definitely our favorite restaurant for our entire trip. The garage was right there and had plenty of parking.

So I went here with a group of people, and we ordered a smorgasbord of items. Overall, we sat in front of the huge screen TV probably a little too close, but we still enjoyed sitting there. The saki was good. Service was amazing the food it was all delicious. I have no complaints. I would recommend coming here if you have never tried it.
