I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews; this location is fantastic. It was very clean inside (the outdoor patio could use more frequent cleaning though). The employees are friendly and the food was delicious.

The last three times I’ve eaten here they have ran out of their Horchata and mint limeade, the first time I just thought “oh well that happens”, second time is odd, but now it’s looking like poor floor management. The food at this location is also very inconsistent, I used to be good regularly but now usually bland or not prepared well. Found a mostly whole bouillon cube in my meat.

It was our first time trying this location, we came in about 2 hours after opening. Everything looked good and had good flavor but the food wasn’t even warm. The beans and rice seemed like they were up to temp but I ordered enchiladas and the meat, sauce and tortillas were basically cold. Having worked in the restaurant industry ourselves, I mentioned it to one of the staff members and they checked if the warmers were on and they were but my guess is that it’s not functioning correctly and temp in the food should be checked before serving. It makes us nervous to give this location another chance especially if things are out of temp for too long.

First and foremost I was in the drive through for over 10 minutes waiting then another 5 for your employee to greet me take my order etc. There were only 2 cars a head of me and the guy in frontof me had to wait 5 minutes to get his order taken. Clearly your team cannot multi-task. Then the food as glorified dog food. Ive eaten at other Cafe Rios without issue but this was bad. My order wasn’t correct but I couldn’t go back as I had to return to work. The steak was closer to Jerky then to steak.
I honestly didn’t even finish my lunch.
Furthermore you’re employee didn’t give me a receipt or even tell my my total.

This place is going down hill I love cafe rio but the quality and service are starting to be subpar. Cafe Rio: DO BETTER, get back to your standards and excellent service. I want to keep being a customer of cafe rio so PLEASE do better. I get the tostada, the grilled chicken was soo dry, not enough lettuce, Limes were dry, the cilantro lime ranch was not as tasty as it used to be, getting cheep I think. Sweet pork also not as good as it used to be. Come on cafe rio, get it together!!!

Placed an online order, arrived at my order time and there was no line but a substantial back up of to-go orders. I waited 15min (again no line), to then find out my order was wrong. They didnt include all of the ingredients I put in my order but more importantly added guacamole which I am extremely allergic to. I did not have time to return for it to be remade since this was during my lunch break. Super disappointing.

Stopped by after arriving at mesa gateway airport. It was 2pm and well after the lunch rush. Restaurant was overall dirty. Food on tables and no napkins to clean our own space. Food was Luke warm and the warm sauces were congealing on top from sitting so long. Grilled chicken was over cooked and dry.
Used to be a great lunch spot. But things need to improve if you want to keep your doors open.

Today will be our last day from ordering from this location after ordering many times and calling many times. Nothing has changed tonight. I ordered a vegetarian taco. Instead of meat in your taco, you get guacamole. You literally click on a picture of a bowl of guacamole to order tonight, I got two tacos and all they had in them was grilled peppers which yes I did order. Instead of the sour cream being inside of the taco shell, I got a little tiny cup of it on the side, which I did not order for it to be on the side and no guacamole insight it would not give me my points. I decided to call but after having calm them at least 10 times over the last couple months I said forget it. This is the straw. That’ll finally break the camels back. I’m done. I added photos to this, but for some reason they’re not showing up to prove what I’m saying is true but oh well I don’t care about that anymore either

I have called many times asking them to train the workers. We like the food we like the fact that they have a vegetarian option that is supposed to include guacamole as a main component. The problem is about 75% of the time you don’t get the guacamole. As many times I have called nothing has really changed. Tonight we ordered the veggie Tostada and got no guacamole. To order it you literally have to click on the picture of a bowl of guacamole So I’m going to upload two pictures one showing there is no guacamole on top where it should be in a second showing me digging through trying to find guacamole without success.

I’ve been to this location several times. I really wish they would get it together. It’s always something, whether it be hard rice, wrong food or missing items. This location is the worst one. I’d honestly like to see them close this location for their sake. Let’s get a some burros put in here. Much better and very consistent especially for the price. I have a hard time spending $20 dollars on a crappy burrito anymore.
