I know why they call it the family because the whole family back there touching the meat without gloves. I set there and watched 3 different people touching all on the raw meat without gloves. Not only that the food was bad. I’m slow for even trying the food. Even after I told them to put on gloves they still touched on the meat and everything else. It’s nasty how they don’t respect people food. I got pictures and videos. Look at this video of the lady with no gloves and the guy uses the same bowl of flour as the lady with no gloves. They even put the bowl of flour on the ground.

This place is in a very sketchy neighborhood. I should know because i’ve lived around this neighborhood my whole life.So just know I know what i’m talking about. As for the food I’ve definitely tasted better. My dad likes chitterlins., so that’s where I go to get them. I’m not sure if they cook everything fresh daily. Because sometimes their stuff does taste like leftovers. I have definitely had better.

This place is a little pricey and quit small it’s a corner triangle lot spot, but if you are ever in the los Angeles area and you love authentic down home grandma’s southern cooking u would do yourself a great diservice if you don’t seek this place,it’s a latin / soul place without compromise. The staff is top tier nice the food is plentiful when I say plentiful I mean grandma shared out the plate. I had the chitterlings very clean and flavorful one of the most expensive items on the menu, I totally understand why having cleaned and cooked them myself. I also ordered the liver and onions with collards and corn and okra my husband ordered fried pork chop yams and Mac and cheese and a side of short ribs people the short rib was so tender and massive the pork chops seasoned to perfection and they give you a side of gravy, last but definitely not least you get Jonny cakes with each order( cornbread that looks like pancakes ) and rice comes standard. If I lived in CA they would have all my money and I wouldn’t have to cook.. THANK YOU “THE FAMILY” FOR FEEDING US WITH SUCH LOVE, MAY YOUR BUSINESS NEVER BE WITHOUT CUSTOMERS

I got the pork chops. HORRIBLE!! tough, and over cooked, I called 14xs just to inform them yet they never answered the phone, bad service. Don’t get pork chops if you go here! It’s 1 thing to have prepared distasteful pork chops, but it’s another thing to not allow the customers to reach you so you can correct it. I’ve been here 2wice buy won’t go back.

This is the place to be. I usually don’t say this but everything is delicious! They know what they’re doing in that kitchen! Being from the South you just don’t eat everybody’s chitterlings. These are clean and on point. Just switch out the Pepsi Sugar to regular Pepsi and get that website up! Ha!

really good food! not too salty. the catfish is really good. mac and cheese… it’s passable. collards are good. black eyes are really good as well as the green beans. the johnny cakes (that’s what I call them) are fluffy and idk anywhere else that serves them…complimentary at that! quick service. I called in and didn’t have to wait on hold long. I recommend calling in. it’s a walk up window to order. cash only. atm on site. reasonably priced. there is a small parking lot on site. bus stops very close by. I recommend.

The best soul food in the city. Beyond healthy portions. The greens are solid and the ox tail is worth the price of admission. Check em out and don’t let the haters in the reviews throw you off. I went with the sirloin tips and the smothered pork chop today. Everything on the menu is bomb AF. Unless you’re really hungry these plates are good for two meals.

Service is good, Food Not so much…My chicken was not seasoned, Neither were the yams or Black-eyed peas. Someone poured B-B-Que sauce over everything I guess to give it flavor. Before I went to this SoulFood place I googled it and it got 5stars the comments had me like oh okay let me try. Let me say this I am a real person and I’m born and raised in LA. This is the most Nastiest Food Iv Ever Had in my life living in LA the short ribs tasted old and spoiled and the Mac and cheese had this Paprika chilli taste to it!
