Been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The food is great. I don’t care for the ground beef but it’s just my preference – everything else is great. The service is attentive, friendly, and professional. The atmosphere is great for family or groups of friends.
When there are other great Mexican restaurants to choose from it’s the little things that set them apart. This one is overall best in Anderson to me because of the most little things in one place.
Highly recommend.
Food for the most part was good. More flavor would be nice though. Got the pollo fundido. The chicken inside had no seasoning at all. Just plain white unseasoned chicken breast. Also I’ve never had a fundido that didn’t have the jalapeno cream cheese on top with shredded Mexican cheese on top of that. This came with sour cream and liquid nacho cheese (NO NO NO!). For some reason all of South Carolina has a thing for liquid cheese…. Can’t figure that one out.
I just told our waiter to leave the liquid cheese off and just give me shredded cheese. Other than that, the fundido was super crispy and with salsa, it was very good. Just not a traditional pollo fundido.
We also ordered soft beef tacos. We expected machaca or at the very least, shredded beef. Instead of was ground beef. However, again, even though it was different than expected, the tacos were very good. Very flavorful. Then, we also got a beef chimi. Again, the beef was ground beef when it really should be shredded. Flavorful but it should be shredded. Period. Also chimi’s are crispy. Deep fried. This wasn’t. It was more like pan fried maybe…..
All the different Salsas were super tasty and love the fresh salsa bar. Tortillas were good, chips fresh and hot.
With all of that being said, even though things are “different” than what we are accustomed to (sonoran Mexican food) we really enjoyed our food. Service was outstanding and food came out quickly.
This is probably the first Mexican restaurant we’ve been to here in the upstate that we agreed, we would gladly come back to even with the differences.
Would definitely recommend
Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
My only complaint was I ordered a tamale to go. When I opened it up that night the tamale was out of the husk and had all the fixings on it- including a heap of sour cream- which is just gross to heat. Delivery should have been tamale in husk with fixings on the side. Otherwise, in house service and food was great!
