I had a really good experience at this restaurant. The kebab was made with beef, but honestly, it was super tasty and I really enjoyed it. I also liked that they served it with fresh herbs on the side – it made the whole meal even better.
The highlight for me was definitely the baklava. It was walnut-filled, really fresh, and delicious. The portion was generous too, and having it with tea was just perfect.
The place itself was clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Betty’s Kabob. The food was top-notch and the service was warm and welcoming. The koobideh and chicken kabobs were perfectly seasoned, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Every bite was full of flavor. The rice was fluffy and the portions were generous. I also tried the baklava for dessert, and it was flaky, sweet, and a perfect finish to the meal. The staff made me feel right at home, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. I highly recommended for anyone craving great Middle Eastern cuisine in Modesto.

We ordered 3 meals yesterday, the rice isn’t well cooked, it’s crunchy, and there was no sauce whatsoever with the dry rice to swallow, the falafel were burnt and the meat, omg, you need tools to cut it, it’s dry and you can chew it for hours. Our order was done in 25 minutes, I think they just wrapped something from the leftover. And it’s expensive. Bad experience.

The place already looked pretty empty when I got there which was already a bad sign. I ordered rice and chicken and kabobs. The rice taste like dirt, the chicken tastes expired and raw, the kabobs are also undercooked. I called to let them know that the food needs improvement but they just told me that I’m the only one complaining. They said that it’s maybe because I’m from a different race and I’m not used to their seasoning but I’m literally Arab and have tried the same food from many different places and it never tasted this bad and looked so unappealing, they didn’t even add the traditional seasonings. And it’s also too expensive for its quality.

Exceptionally great food, friendly service, and lovely food presentation! Impressed with new ownership and subtle changes that make it unique to Betty’s. We’re previous loyal patrons of George’s but are certainly happy to have Betty in town. Fresh tasty hummus pairs well with an aromatic Perisan salad over thin bread. I enjoyed a hearty plate of lentil soup which I devoured as my main dish. Spouse ordered the combo plate with chicken and beef kabobs that he thoroughly enjoyed. Servings sizes are generous, bring your appetite, or even share with a friend. Our server was charming, efficient (water glasses ALWAYS filled), and had a nice sense of humor. We are big Fans of Betty’s and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal in town!

The cooking is above all other persian restaurants around. I tried all from sacramento to san francisco to modesto. Betty is the only who serves cooked yogurt (yummm), uses actual saffron (you can taste it unlike all others substituting turmeric!!)
Rolled cabbage is super. Portions are hunky. Price is lowest.

This is my first time here. Just by the area picking one. I ordered a sandwich, and it was a very good choice. Fresh vegetables, good bread and the flavor of the meat was delicious. Service was very nice, and the place looks very clean and cozy. I think for Mediterranean origin people it could be evocative. Fair prices good service and good products. I forgot the pictures of baklava but it was crunching deli.

Absolutely delicious, i was on the run so i only got the wrapped grape leaves and the Gyro sandwich. Both very delicious. But for sure next time I’ll order a bigger meal for more to enjoy. The restaurant was clean and decorated so quaint, the people were so kind and respectful, and the smell from the cooking was causing me to drool. Can’t wait to come back!
