For over $30 I barley got any deep fried artichoke hearts. Less than half a a basket if I ate there. I love deep fried artichokes & go often. This time I ordered 2 as the last time I barley had any, so I thought if I ordered 2, it be good. Nope. She even looked at it & said something to him but packaged it up & gave it to me. I had already paid so not much to do. This is my 9th time going in less then a month & a half. I don’t mind paying for good food but $35 for barley any. Wow, very disappointing!! It was the same guy that barley put any in the other time. That was with a tip for takeout so $35. That’s insane!!

Had to check on our order twice. Seems the wait staff and the cooks were having a feud. Had to beg for a to go box. Beers were good. Food was as expected for wings and fried pickles. The bartender gave us two free tokens for beer. That was a nice gesture and a more positive impression. Too bad it had to come to that. Don’t think we’ll return.

Im from out of town and found this place doing Reggae night on a Sunday night. What a find!!! This is really good brick oven pizza! Crust was charred in places elevating the flavor! The people/service was excellent and its a cool/hip atmosphere inside with awesome music. What else do you need? Try it.

Stopped by first time on a weekend. Beers were great and the food slapped. I asked to split a sandwich with my partner and they did it for us, so nice. There were way more fries before the pic. I crushed them HARD because everything was tasty. Bartender Katy was amazing!

Arrived at Grass Valley in the late night and this place was still open. Good to try the local brewery. They offer pizzas out of a wood fired oven. I tried Asian wraps and they were great.

Sat 4:30pm, our party sat at a sturdy balanced clean table (lol, no wobbly legs), combination pizza was delicious w crispy crust from the outdoor pizza oven, couple of yummy burgers, the 49er game on the big projector, tasty beers & sours, made for a wonderful night out. Highly recommend ☆☆☆☆☆

1849 is an amazing place to spend the evening. There’s nothing like a delicious meal and great beer. I enjoyed their blends of beer. The service was impeccable for the dinner rush. I didn’t wait longer than 10 minutes for anything including my hamburger. I was really impressed by the service.
My favorite beer is called Gravity is Real. It’s tasty and has a hint of chocolate. I like it because it’s strong and is really good.
For food we saw a lot of scrumptious pizzas so we ordered one of our own.
I ordered the 1849er burger and absolutely loved it! It was juicy and plump, it had everything on it. A member in my group ordered wings that were seriously some of the best I’ve had.
For beer I tried a lot of stuff and it all was awesome. One of the owner’s favorites recommended to me was the Veinna Lagger. Awesome blend, nice and rich. I meant the creator of it while drinking and she was nice. Another favorite was the hazel.
The whole place was covered in entertainment, games, pool, live music.
I would recommend this place for a lovely evening with friends or a date night.
Prices were great, very reasonable for high value food.
The establishment was very Covid safe. There’s markers on the ground and social distancing rules in place. You can wear a mask if you’d like. Groups are allowed to sit next to each other but have to be 6 feet away from other groups.
I had yummy leftovers to bring home!

It’s a nice spot to hang out for a beer. I tried all 4 of their IPAs and all were fairly solid. We also had their Fried Pickles & Beer Battered Fries and both were very good. We’d definitely head back.

Certainly it is too soon to do a proper evaluation of this place, since it only recently opened. But so far so good, not great, but it may become great. First – the beer. It’s good. I like their style as compared to say Old Republic. This beer has great body and flavor. I spoke with the brewmaster at some length and she certainly knows what she is doing. Good selection too, but I would like to see more big-bodied choices such as heavy stouts, bourbon barrel aged and the like. But the beer is good. And they do have a full bar if you aren’t into beer. They could use a bigger selection of wines. Decor is nil, the place doesn’t yet have its own ‘personality’, but hopefully that will come. Love the heavy walnut wood tables and bar!
What’s not to like? Parking is rough, they simply don’t have enough. Yes you can park across the street at Grocery Outlet, at least at night, but if you’ve seen the scene there at night you might not want to. And I really would rather not have young children running around wherever I am trying to relax and socialize. OK so they want it to be a family place rather than a pub, but my preference is not to make it kid friendly. Which brings us to pool table – it should go. Takes up a lot of room and changes the feel of the place to something cheaper than it is. Oh, and they keep the place cold! Like wear a heavy coat cold. Don’t know why.
But so far the service has been good, the menu is good enough for pub fair and is of good quality (nice kitchen and pizza oven), and as I said good beer.
So give it a try for sure, and hope it develops some local character, some personality of its own, some charm.

Stopped in for a late night meal and drink and we were not disappointed! Staff was super friendly, food was amazing and of course great beer! Can’t speak to amenities inside as the weather was perfect to eat outdoors. Some of the best fries I’ve had and look forward to coming back again!
