Now under new ownership. We came for the all you can eat breakfast and it was delicious! The price for breakfast was also under what you would pay elsewhere. Biscuits and gravy were awesome! The service was excellent and much improved under this ownership. The only problem I expierenced was the chairs are still the same as the previous owners. While the new owners did put seat cushions, the chairs could definetly be upgraded, which I feel the new owners will do given what they have already invested into this restaurant.
Wanted to give an update on the dinner menu as my wife and I enjoyed a Saturday night dinner. The king prime rib was delectable with a healthy serving of horseradish, along with the French onion soup. I believe they offer a Military/Veteran discount if I remember from our breakfast but forgot to ask this time. Service like breakfast attentive but not overbearing.

Have no complaints here. Highly recommend their buffet as well. Great service, people, and food! Every staff member is so friendly and is always working their butts off. I will keep coming back as long as it’s open!

Appetizer came out and was half cooked. The waitress took it back and removed it from our bill. Ribs came out and were barely warm. Should have said something but we were tired and just wanted to get home. May have just been an off night for the kitchen staff.

It was my first time at Ceder Creek Tavern. At first I thought prices were high, but the food was very delicious. I ordered stuffed mushrooms and the BBQ burger w/o BBQ. My taste buds were screaming for more, but I was stuffed half way through. The chef has talent!
The service was also the best that I’ve experienced in most of Grand Rapids area. They took time to help us order and have small talk w/o making us feel like we were an inconvenience. They certainly delivered!
If you want to go somewhere and know you’ll get good food and service consistently, but pay a little more. Then this is the place to go.
Lastly, I’d describe the atmosphere as just right and chairs we sit in at the high top tables were comfortable. Temperature felt airy and although there’s music in the background along with other people chatting at their tables having a good time, you could hear your company’s voice just fine. I certainly enjoyed the whole experience.

Great food again. It’s not your typical Americana. The food is next level from your standard grill. Fries are crunch with a well done center seasoning is just enough to flavor but not overpower. And the cuts of meat are just a bit better than most places. And the atmosphere is very nice. Dinner menu is even better.

Service and food excellent- much more positive experience than when under previous ownership. Our server Dan was attentive, accommodating and had a great sense of humor. Full bar is nice too.

The cook on the mussels, if you dare to put them on the menu, in a remote area, are the measure of a restaurant. They were top notch, a few more herbs, and some spicy kielbasa, but right up there with the best I’ve had. And we are in the middle of the continent. Great service, delicious food. Stop in.

I’d truly like to give this restaurant higher scores, and I would have IF the food would have been actually cooked properly. My chicken (Pollo Maria) was NOT cooked. It was pink and cold in the center. (see picture) My brother’s “breaded” walleye sandwich and came out with beer batter and inside the batter was still raw and gooey. We showed our server and he didn’t seem to think anything was wrong with it. But did offer to BROIL another filet. (FYI…The “breaded” onion rings also were beer batter.) I took my chicken home and finished cooking it because we had been there 2 hours already.
The service was slow and we understood that there would be a wait. We just wanted our food cooked properly so we wouldn’t make anyone sick, basic food safety.
My advice, go during a slow time. I think it would be a much better experience. As for us, we probably won’t be returning. Once bitten twice shy.
PS. The French onion soup was really good!

We stopped at Cedar Creek Tavern for dinner on the way to our cabin. Brandy was our bartender and she was fantastic! She suggested the ribs for dinner and they were absolutely incredible! Thank you Cedar Creek Tavern for an awesome dinner experience!
