Family-friendly, wheel-chair accessible, great spot for date night, calm, beautiful, yummy places with wifi, lattes, real handmade delicious authentic French foods. Bathroom. Bright lighting. No music no tv. Large wine list. Fast service, large menu, friendly staff, reservations but walk ins seated quickly. I recommend the French onion soup- so filling it’s an entire meal.

Beautiful French restaurant in West Van. The interior is gorgeous, the oil paintings in gold frames and the painted outlines on the walls are charming. I also appreciated the attention to detail with the uniform table settings.

A group of friends and I made a reservation here for a catch up dinner, at 5:30. The restaurant was relatively empty when we came in, but was quickly filled up by 6:30. Our waitress was polite and quick on her feet, our orders were placed in a timely manner and all of the food came out with little to no wait. Although the restaurant was quite full at one point, it was easy to have a conversation without raising our volume.

We ordered the lobster bisque, west coast risotto, beef bourguignon, canard à la lorraine, and the london fog crème brûlée. The lobster bisque was hands down the best I’ve had so far. The flavour was rich and the texture was creamy without being heavy. I enjoyed the west coast risotto, it was velvety and comforting, and it had the perfect ratio of seafood to rice. We finished our meal with the london fog crème brûlée, which was fantastic! It was a lovely, not-too-sweet creamy dessert.

This is a great restaurant for groups and for dates. I will be back with my family!

I had a great experience at Restorant Mereon. The meat was excellent and cooked perfectly, and their wine selection is impressive with plenty of good options. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the live music adds a really nice touch to the evening. Definitely a place worth visiting if you want good food and a relaxed vibe

Checked out this charming little French restaurant during DineOut, which gave a great chance to sample their menu. Everything we tried – ham/cheese croquettes, short rib, bouillabaisse, chocolate mousse – was delicious with nice presentation. Lovely service by Taylor. Definitely will return!

Beautiful spot. Very bright and refreshing – the light streams in from all angles during the day. Sharp, fresh, and modern feel. Real flowers on the table. Heart felt and surprising touches like tiny ramekins for condiments.

Excellent service. We enjoyed the brunch. Mid day menu includes heftier meals for those looking for more than eggs. Huge burgers with heaps of fries in addition to classic French dishes like quiche and steak frites.

Extra bonus – this spot is in a quiet area as it’s on Clyde Ave instead of Marine Dr like most restaurants in West Van. Highly recommend.

Thank you Mereon for the wonderful experience. It’s like going to France without having to actually travel there.

Great French Menu, Impeccable Service and reasonably priced! We are partial to the lobster bisque and the Chicken Liver Mousse to start and for mains we recommend the Mereon Burger as well as the Steak Frites (which are always done perfectly). One of the features of this space is that it is very versatile…perfect for a lazy or boozy brunch, a nice setting for a quick business lunch or would make a perfect spot for a quiet and romantic dinner. Highly Recommend you give them a try!

Lobster Bisque & French Onion Soup was good. Seafood quality was disappointing. Mussels were small & overcooked. Sablefish with bouillabaise sauce were lacking.
Maybe next time will try meat entrees
Atmosphere, staff and service was nice.

The place isn’t fancy, but it’s really cozy and comfortable. Service was friendly and on point. I loved the onion soup — super rich and tasty. Desserts were nice too. But the braised beef was just so-so. The meat felt like a basic supermarket cut — kind of dry and not juicy, and the flavor didn’t stand out. If I come back, I’d probably go for brunch or happy hour instead of a full meal — feels like a better fit for the vibe and the small bites here.

My husband took me to Mèreon for a surprise anniversary dinner.
The atmosphere of this French Bistro is really lovely.
The whole space and wall decor crates a cozy atmosphere of a French countryside; for a few hours I forgot I was in Canada 🙂
Live music was making our anniversary dinner even more special.
For an appetizer I ordered French Onion Soup, it was my very first time trying it and definitely not the last! The taste was absolutely incredible. For our second course I had Beef Bourguignon and my husband ordered Steak Mèreon. We both were very impressed how rich and unique in flavour the food was! Chef Ameer truly puts all his heart into preparing each course with love and passion for food and it shows!

3 of us went for Happy Hour on Sunday after the theatre. Firstly – the food and friendly service were both excellent, enough to overcome the lack of atmosphere. After Happy Hour, we could only manage lobster bisque (delicious). We did feel there was insufficient “crostini” given for the liver pate. The waitress did ask if we needed more but forget to tell us a $5 charge, which we felt was very tacky and extremely inappropriate. As we were leaving, there was a guitar player, which was a very nice addition. Overall, we will go again when over the bridge.
