I had the Normandy burger and I’m a stickler for a good burger. One of the better local burgers I’ve had..
My wife had the chicken tacos and was very pleased.
Lastly we added on the zucchini planks.. one of our favorites as it’s a crunchier beer batter type breading and slightly thicker zucchini sticks..
All in all very good!
The third time unfortunately was not a charm. I got a combo of 8 wings, a 16 cut pizza and a Pepsi for my family. The pizza was fine, but the wings had feathers on them (I don’t think I’ve ever had chicken with feathers before… and then be told that this is normal… I had pork with hairs once but that’s a different story).
The reason for the one star though is not even that the wings had feathers, but the two dismissive, mocking and almost hateful attitude of the women that treated me like I was an inconvenience and refused to redo the order or do a partial refund. First they just plain lied to me over the phone saying that none of their wings had feathers, and asked me to bring them because it’s not possible, so I go there in person. Second, I unfortunately found the feathers after eating 4 of the wings, that is not my fault, but they treated me like I was a horrible human for eating some of the wings. Third, sometimes you find problems after you started your meal, it doesn’t mean the problem is not there. Fourth once they look at them and it’s impossible to say they don’t have feathers, the kitchen manager says “well, we have a new cook who’s just starting out and left the feathers on, so it’s not on us. If you got chicken from Giant Eagle and ate half of it and try to return the rest they would refuse”, so they just wanted me to waste my time cause they already knew they had feathers. Fifth, I thought they said on the phone that none of their wings had feathers. Sixth, I don’t know if it was the bad experience or what, but I am having a bad stomach pain after this meal.
I talked to 3 women in total, the kitchen manager and one of the waitresses (I think) were just plain rude and horrible. The third woman (I think another waitress), from whom I originally got my order from was actually nice and tried to help so this review is not for her.
My wife then went to talk to them and got a re-do on the wings, which I went to pick up later and… they had feathers again… this time all 8 of them!! So once again they just wanted me to waste my time and disrespect me. And no sauce. Total disregard for me as a customer. And obviously they did not want anyone to eat those wings.
In case you were wondering, NEVER AGAIN. I don’t know who can tolerate to be treated like this, but not me. My business is closed for Marino’s, forever.
The empty Heinz ketchup bottle at our table made the embarrassing farting noise but the wait staff brought another immediately so all’s good
