Wow. What a super place. I’m already anxious for my next visit. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. I will do what I can to come back as soon as I can and bring friends too. They had a special cajun item on the menu I want to get next visit. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of seating for small groups as well. See photos.

My office orders Jimmy Jacks pretty frequently and I’ve had the assortment of foods from Jimmy Jacks. Everything I’ve tried has been wonderful.
I had never really been to the restaurant and decided that their smoked wings sounded incredibly good today. However, as soon as I was walking up to order I saw a few burgers being delivered to a table and they looked incredible. Greasy, cheesy, and simple.
Ordered the burger instead and it’s easily one of the best burgers I’ve had since I’ve lived in Iowa (3 years), and definitely the best burger I’ve had in North Liberty. They just come plain with cheese, patties and bun, but add some onions and pickles from the condiment bar and make it a little bit better.
I also got the fries, mac and cheese, and an unsweet tea. All three are also highly recommended. The mac and cheese come out a little runny, but once it cools off the sauce thickens and has a nice creamy, mild flavor. The fries are deliciously seasoned. And the tea is simple, but somehow lots of places screw tea up.

If you don’t know what good ribs are you will love this place ! The ribs are ok-not fatty , not much flavor a little dry it does stick to the bone -has nice meat on them . You only get 2 small little containers for sauce which is enough but then they charge for more … you pick 2 sides with your full slab , doesn’t automatically come with corn bread which is let down if you ask me … I gave 3 stars ⭐️ because I am not disappointed just not leaving there like “yeah those were awesome “ mac and cheese was good .

I came from out of town for a company training. Jimmy Jacks was recommended to me by a coworker and it was the best bbq I’ve ever had! They had the Fatty Melt Sandwich special going on, and figured I’d try that. The brisket was so good, it wasn’t dry at all, the mushrooms and onions were sautéed to perfection on top of the brisket with some cheese. It couldn’t have been better. And to top it all off? Even got a sample of their smoked wings in the original bbq, dry, and a buffalo sauce. The wings and sandwich were so good! The guy that took the order I forget his name, but he had a beard and was super nice, giving us recommendations where else to try. I left there over stuffed, and with two bottles of their bbq sauce to take home. I will for sure be back and will recommend everyone to come try it out. Fantastic food, amazing service, and great atmosphere!!!

I tried fatty beef brisket sandwiches and it was great! It has right amount of fat and perfect with melted cheese. But the cole slaw is only so-so.

The very first thing I would comment about regarding this restaurant is it’s wait staff. I wish I had gotten our waitress’s name. We called in our order and heard the friendliest and helpful voice who took our order and didn’t seem at all annoyed by us using the phone and not their app.
In less than ten minutes, our waitress arrived with our food. She provided all the wet naps, napkins, BBQ sauce and eating utensils we could desire. And that’s not necessarily a given with take-out.
The brisket and chicken BBQ sandwiches were good and the baked beans were good, too. They have gluten-free selections which is a HUGE plus for us.
My husband and I hail from the BBQ capital of the world, the Memphis TN area, so superb BBQ is what we usually eat. This little restaurant tucked away in a line of retail shops makes a mighty effort to provide great BBQ at a most reasonable price. Through my Southern eyes, I think they’ve accomplished their goal. Good job!

I worked at the original location the year it opened, and I literally ate there everyday. Today (13 years later!) I ate at the North Liberty location, and am excited to report they have maintained the same wonderful taste, quality, and atmosphere! I enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich, with Cowboy sauce, classic baked beans, coleslaw, and the best cornbread in the world! Some places may cut corners or change too much as they grow, but Jimmy Jacks is staying true to the food, service, and ambience that made me love them in 2005! I heavily recommend eating here.

Great smoked meat! I got the Fatty Brisket cause the owner recommended that I should get it based off what I like! However, I brought a friend with me and specifically told the guy that was waiting on me that I was only paying for my meal! He charged me for both me and my friend’s meal and when you’re running a business you just don’t do that! Not very professional! They did have a nice restroom though that had a really cool glowing mirror! I’ll definitely recommend this place for it’s brisket and I may be back to try out those ribs!

This is my most favorite place to get BBQ. I have tried BBQ restaurants in many states and I’m always disappointed. Jimmy Jacks has the best fatty beef brisket out there, this I am sure of. Their sauces are amazing as well. Also their fries are the best, so delicious!
