The staff and managers were very friendly and welcoming. Everyone was nice and made us feel comfortable. Special thanks to the manager and bartender Rico – he’s a great guy and took good care of us.
We will definitely come back again. It’s not easy to find places in Miami and Fort Lauderdale with service like this.
Thank you guys!
The Sunday brunch was nice, but extremely pricey. It’s $85 per person, plus an additional $25 for two hours of bottomless cocktails. You can switch between mimosas, Bellinis, and prosecco throughout the two-hour window, which is a nice touch. The buffet offered a wide assortment of pastries, desserts, breads, chicken and waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, lox with cream cheese and veggies, chicken Francese, prime rib, oysters, shrimp cocktail—just to name a few. While the selection was large, the food itself was good but not amazing.
Our server was wonderful and mentioned she was celebrating her own birthday on Monday, which added a warm, personal touch to the experience. The cocktails were definitely a highlight—really well made.
Overall, Jay’s is a gorgeous spot with great service, and I’d absolutely return for dinner. However, I wouldn’t go back for the brunch at that price point.
happy hour. We were impressed by the pristine crispy tuna, tempura rock shrimp, lychee martini, and delicious Rioja wine! The beef in the steak frites was so tender, I cut it with a fork and the French dip was amazing, thinly shaved meat, fresh bread, and well composed! The gargantuan Baked Alaska with brownie, ice cream, & torched meringue was a sweet finish to an amazing night! We can’t wait it to return!
Most of the food was fantastic. My husband devoured the lamb chop lollipops and said they were “ridiculously good” — we even got another order to-go for the sitter. The burrata was good – add the prosciutto. Main entrees were the sea bass and the bone-in strip. Both were excellent. Added a side of bearnaise which was good. They have a salt flight, which is the greatest addition I’ve ever seen on a menu. I need this with every steak from now on. Hubby ordered an espresso and we shared a piece of chocolate cake. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s huge. The table next to us was in awe. And it was stupid good. Those multiple layer cakes tend to be dry. Not this one — moist, decadent, not too heavy. It was reallllly good….as it should be for $24 a slice. I probably wouldn’t have ordered it if I had seen the price before, but I’m glad I did, and was worth it, if splurging, or if money is no concern.
The downfall was the sides. Maybe we just chose poorly, but they were not good. The Dauphinoise potatoes were unseasoned and had a weird thick layer of what looked like shredded cheese on top. The mushroom society looks really good… but it was wet mushrooms sitting in a bed of mushroom water. Zero caramelization if that’s what you’re looking for. We hardly touched either.
It’s pricey – it was over $400, including tip and that also includes three glasses of wine. We would likely go back – hopefully they fine tune some of those sides. Other sides, like the lobster Mac and the pommes puree, looked good from the table next door.
It’s not a place for a quiet dinner. I must have said “what??” a dozen times, trying to hear. The vibe was good, but know it’s loud with live music on one side. The building itself is beautiful with stained glass near the bar and thoughtful details throughout.
I would give the place 4 and a half stars of that was a thing. The sides kept me from giving it 5 stars.
From the moment you walk up to the beautifully restored historic church, you know you are in for something special. Inside, the vaulted ceilings, stained glass, plush leather booths, and dramatic red velvet curtains create a space that feels both glamorous and cozy. Every corner feels like the best seat in the house whether you are on a date, celebrating something big, or treating yourself.
The food absolutely lives up to the setting. The truffle duck fat fries, lamb chop lollipops, rock shrimp tempura, bone marrow, Lucky Duck oysters, and the impressive seafood towers are all unforgettable. The prime rib trolley and the tomahawk steak are true showstoppers, served with classic sides that feel elevated and fresh.
The cocktails are worth the visit on their own. Each drink is crafted with care, beautifully balanced, and full of flavor. It is the kind of place where trying something new feels exciting.
What truly makes Jays stand out is the ambiance and weekend entertainment. Live jazz, soulful music, and a lively late night atmosphere create a setting where you want to stay long after dessert. It feels like dinner and a night out all in one.
The service is exceptional. Warm, attentive, and polished without ever feeling stuffy. A special shout out to John the manager who goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. His professionalism, genuine hospitality, and attention to detail take the entire experience to another level. You can tell he cares deeply about ensuring every visit is memorable.
Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, planning a date night, or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Jays Steakhouse should be at the very top of your list. Incredible food, stunning ambiance, handcrafted cocktails, amazing service, and weekend entertainment make it one of Fort Lauderdale’s must visit destinations.
The drinks, food, and service were all good and met expectations. One thing that genuinely surprised me, however, was that dogs were allowed inside the restaurant. For a space positioning itself as upscale, this was unexpected. Personally, I don’t feel dogs belong in dining environments, as it takes away from the overall experience.
Overall, solid food and service in a unique setting, but the pet policy may not appeal to everyone seeking a more traditional upscale dining experience.
