Susan and I recently visited The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, and it turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that reminds us why we love discovering local restaurants. Located next to Ember and Iron, we originally thought this would be a traditional sit down spot. Instead, we found a counter service restaurant that delivers excellent food, generous portions, and a dining experience that feels thoughtful and welcoming from start to finish.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place has a loyal following. There was a steady flow of guests dining in and picking up takeout, which is always a great sign. The space itself is clean, bright, and inviting, with brick accents and greenery that give it a relaxed Mediterranean feel without trying too hard.

One detail that really stood out to us was the tabletop program encouraging guests to take a photo of their meal and share it. For every photo shared, the restaurant donates a meal to a local food bank. It is a small gesture, but one that speaks volumes about the values behind the business and adds to the overall positive experience.

We started with a Greek salad and the Four Dip Combo, which is something we will absolutely be back for. It is also a great option for sharing or even ordering for a small gathering. The platter includes tzatziki, hummus, tirokafteri, and melitzanosalata, along with a generous amount of warm pita for dipping. Each dip brought something different to the table. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor without being heavy, and it quickly became Susan’s favorite. The tzatziki was cool and refreshing with just the right balance of garlic and yogurt. I especially enjoyed the tirokafteri, which had a nice kick of heat that built gently without overpowering the other flavors. The melitzanosalata added a slightly smoky eggplant note that rounded everything out beautifully. The warm pita was soft and plentiful, making it easy to sample each dip and enjoy the platter at a relaxed pace.

For our main dishes, I ordered the gyro, a dish I often use as a benchmark when visiting Greek restaurants. The tzatziki sauce was excellent and tied the whole dish together nicely. Susan chose the Atlantic salmon, and this is where the meal truly exceeded expectations. The salmon was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and paired with rice and lemon potatoes that added brightness and balance to the plate.

Portion sizes are generous and pricing feels very fair for the quality and amount of food you receive. We even left with leftovers, including baklava that we enjoyed later that evening. While this is not a full service restaurant, the staff was friendly, efficient, and attentive, bringing food to the table and checking in during the meal.

We walked in curious and left genuinely impressed. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill delivers authentic flavors, strong value, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to understand why so many people keep coming back. This is absolutely a place we will return to and one we are happy to recommend to anyone looking for great Greek food done right.

Could you please tell me what is on the dolmas? The spinach pie tastes as though it may have been kept under a heat lamp for an extended period. I must say, this is the least enjoyable falafel I have ever tasted. The bread and dips are quite ordinary. I apologize, but I do not believe this meal was worth $50.

I luv to give a good food review with over 7 million looks on Googlereviews. I missed the red flags when it’s 12:30 on a weekday and the place was empty. I was completely disappointed by this place. I ordered the gyro combo for $20+ bucks. The gyro meat came out cold as ice, so I had to ask why it wasn’t warm. The manager was nice and reheated my gyro i already bit into. The pepper shaker had a hair stuck to it. Gross! The place looked brand new and amazing, wish the food was as good as the atmosphere.

Ok, so this place had plenty of parking! After all, it is in a strip mall with all sorts of other stores and restaurants.

Its location is great for many locals, but not for tourist at all, (unless you don’t mind being a few minutes WEST of I-95).

Clean, nice, & 4/5 on English-speaking scale.

LOUD INSIDE.

The gyro meat and chicken meat were great.

The baklava was not.

I will go again, but the 4th star is for easy access, not food alone.

On the expensive side also.

Ordered a large Greek salad with gyro meat which cost $20. Meat was completely dried out and stiff and the bagged lettuce was already turning pink. Called to see if management would do anything and would only credit the meat. Go to Natural Greens in Durbin instead where the meats always fresh

For $14 this is absolutely unacceptable. The picture and description makes it look and sound like a fresh hand made patty. But it’s a premade frozen puck. Tastes like trash as well. I wish I could give it -5 ⭐️

We ordered the Souvlaki Plates, 2 skewers of your preferred meat plus a side of Greek salad. I got the grilled chicken and my husband got the combination of lamb and beef. All our meats were tender, juicy and very flavorful! If you like baklava but don’t want it to be too sweet, try their baklava ice cream! So good! Their rice pudding is also a must try. We will be back!

Ordered the Gyro Plate on February 8, 2026 and found hair in the food. I do not recommend potential customers to this establishment.

I know growing up in a Greek neighborhood I have a spoiled palate. The gyro was ok. The lemon potatoes were an atrocity and we threw them out. They were a deflated, burnt and reheated mess dripped in a red lemon sauce. Whomever cooked them has zero pride in their culinary skills

It is my wife and I, first time there, and the staff were friendly, We asked for a Gyro sandwich and the Falafel sandwich, fries and drinks. I then found out that I could’ve ordered the platter and saved money. The order takers should have recommended the platter. The portions are small for the price.
