This was my first time trying cheung’s and I had heard many people talk about it so I thought it would be nice to finally experience it for myself. My daughter picked up the order and brought it home to share with my parents and the whole family. Even with a 12–15 minute drive, the food was still hot when it arrived.
The meal was delicious overall , crispy where it needed to be crispy, flavorful, and generous in portions. I especially appreciated the meat to filling ratio in the meatballs, which was well balanced.
The only thing I wasn’t as fond of were the egg rolls; the filling inside seemed a bit overcooked for my taste. But with so many other tasty dishes to enjoy (we spent about $160, so there was plenty to go around!), I was not disappointed. They still got a 5 star in my books
All in all, it was a very good first experience, and I would definitely try them again.
Highly recommended ☺️

I’ve eaten alot of westernized Chinese food so my review is completely honest. Food is what you would expect from a westernized old school chinese restaurant that properly hasn’t changed a thing since they’ve opened in the 90s. The food is average at best I’ve eaten at some horrific chinese restaurants and I’ve eaten at the best and this is like in the middle if I had to round I’d round down if we were dealing in numbers. I had the sweet and sour pork added pineapples and steamed rice. Rice had a nice smoky wok taste and they were cooked well not mushy. The pork was dry some pieces were stringy almost like I caught a hair but it was maybe a cheap cut of pork. The sweet and sour sauce was ok …very generic. But at least it didn’t taste like dish soap like I’ve experienced before with others. All in all would I eat here again ..if I was desperate and had a Chinese food itch and didn’t feel like driving too far probably yes but by no means would I go out of my way to eat there or would i really recommend it…like I would never tell someone ” You gotta try this place. ” the portion was good for the price. I gave it a light 3 closer to 2.5. I definitely wouldn’t do take out cause for the quality your getting already take out would make it even that much worse needs to be eaten fresh to reflect my review and comments and I wouldn’t order at busy times cause they’ll probably squander the quality even more.

We ordered dinner for 2B, it was a good price for the amount of food, but it was disappointing. Our first time trying this restaurant. the egg rolls only had vegetables and the chicken fried rice only had a few tiny pieces of chicken. the chicken chow mein was the best, but sauce flavour still overpower the dish. the sweet and sour chicken was fine, but the dipping sauce tasted more like jam.

Not what it use to be !! Ordered food lastnight the general Thai chicken. Taste like Malasses and vinegar. Beef abd brocolli was gross the beef was greyish looking ans the sweet and spur sauce was absolute disgusting!!! And the fried rice was way to salty. Overall very disappointing. Place use to be 5* but now I will be making a change.

We ordered takeout from Cheung’s for the first time for our dart nite. The ,Special Value Platter was the perfect choice. No other Chinese take out or dine in has a platter like this. When we put it down on the table,it started to go fast. We all really enjoyed this platter and now we would like to try some of their other dishes. Will order from here again.

I ordered last night 4 spring rolls (the mini 3 and a regular) and the chicken combo with general Tao’ chicken, lemon chicken and chicken fried rice.
Over the phone pleasant, even corrected my order think it’s Chicken combo B. When I went to pick it up however….
Why are all the tables against the wall? Covid restrictions have been gone for 4 years.
Beautiful inside restaurant though. Lady was very rude ignored me until a second customer came in. I asked for chopstick and wasn’t given one. Disappointed but thankfully I still had some.
Problem with the food. The general Tao’s chicken…. Was in this dark brown sauce I’ve never seen before. General Tao’ is a red chili flake spicy sauce.
That was not what was on the chicken badly coated may I add and I had to pull grizzle out from the batter overall very gross experience. The lemon chicken came with a slice of lemon…. It’s suppose to have a lemon glaze… the chicken tasted much better the only thing I was really able to eat.
The rice…. Was so gross… why does your fried rice taste like an ash tray? Do your chefs/ cook smoke cigarettes? Yes I can tell cause they don’t wash their hands. The rice is not edible I got physically sick after two bites and continued to get sick throughout the night. I will be contacting the ministry of health and safety… I still have the rice but my god I don’t think the staff- after how trying to pay and leave with my meal went will just be a fight. So I will contact the ministry. They need a pop up health inspection done.

Since the closing of South Sea, this has been our go to Chinese spot. The food is good and the prices are convenient, which keeps us coming back. Parking can be a bit inconvenient sometimes, and they can get so busy that you can’t even get through on the phone lol. Waiting around kind of sucks, especially since it’s not really a sit down restaurant anymore.
Overall though, solid food and a reliable choice when you’re craving Chinese.

This was my first time buying there. The food is delicious, and the food size is very good. We had sweet and sour boneless chicken and vegetable Lo Mein. I totally recommend it. The service was quick and good. Definitely, I will come back soon.

If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would. Started ordering from Cheung’s after Joy Inn on Ottawa closed (and after South Sea closed). Cheung’s food is very good – big portions, lots of meat (huge shrimp) and all very flavourful. Only nit-picky complaint is that the fried rice was a touch dry, but that’s just my opinion. Highly recommended.
