The hot sale and crab delight appetizer is definitely a crowd favorite. Both were served hot and fresh. I liked the crunchy texture of the hot sale and the creamy, slightly sweet flavor of the crab delight. It’s a nice starter if you want something light before the main Thai dishes.

This was a very nice surprise on our walk down Rainier. The vibe is small, mom and pop. We chose to sit along the window and the noise from outside wasn’t distracting. The service was great, the waitress was very nice, attentive and helpful, ready to answer any questions about the dishes. I enjoyed the vegetarian spring rolls and they were fresh, light and crunchy with a sweet dipping sauce. My son enjoyed the chicken gyoza. I couldn’t get a detailed review because he ate them so fast, they were gone before I could ask, lol. The broccoli lover dish with fried tofu and white rice reminded me of my childhood. It was flavorful, lots of broccoli and the carrots still had a crunch to them. The tofu was fried perfectly. I asked for a 3 level of heat but I enjoy spicy food and would ask for a level 5 in the future. My son ordered the crunchy sushirito and he could not be happier with his choice. He said that it was flavorful and he really enjoyed the sauce because it came with two different options.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends, family and co-workers.

Food was amazing! Had the garlic garlic chicken, angel eggplant. Both were on lunch menu. Big portions. Also had spring rolls which were delicious!

We have transited past Bua 9 for several years and finally dropped in. Our order came out quickly! And graciously served. Everyone was real nice (including the patrons, which speaks volumes). It’s true: hard to get bad Thai food in Seattle. But each dish was true to its intention, and correctly spiced. Very delicious! Panang curry with brown (red! Maroon) rice was delightful. Pad Kee Mao was correct, vegetables perfectly cooked. We selected the basil fried rice and it had the right waké. The swimming rama was all of the things. Next time we won’t wait nearly as long to come back.

We tried the number one appetizer seller at Bua 9 Thai Cuisine — hot sale on the left and crab delight on the right. Both were freshly prepared and served hot. The hot sale had a nice crispy texture with savory filling, while the crab delight was creamy, rich, and very satisfying. A great starter that’s perfect for sharing before enjoying the main Thai dishes. ✨

We came here out of curiosity to try a new place and had a great time. The owner greeted us and told us about the food and spices. We ended up getting the pumpkin curry, oceanic fried rice, tom yum, and coconut sticky rice.

First off the spice level is no joke like at other places, very spicy. I got the 5 and my mouth was burning the whole time, only order 5 if you can handle it, it’s great.

The pumpkin curry was delicious. I love Asian pumpkins in my curry so was glad to see this option. Lots of veggies and meat provided as well, overall a great dish.

My girlfriend got the oceanic fried rice which had various sea food in it. Lots of protein and the fried rice isn’t super oily which is very welcomed, you can taste more of the flavors in it. A very large portion as well.

The tom yum is good as well. I don’t like tomatoes so can’t comment that it is up to par as others but my girlfriend liked it a lot.

Finally the coconut dessert was delicious. Tasted like freshly made ice cream and the sticky rice was warm and cooked perfectly.

Honestly nothing here to complain about it’s pretty solid and at a good price as well. I will be coming back.

My partner ordered the Spicy Catfish Dinner and absolutely loved it — flavorful, bold, and cooked just right. I ordered the Pad Khee Mao (Drunken Noodles), hoping for something rich and balanced, but they weren’t quite “drunk” enough in flavor and left an odd aftertaste.

When I politely shared my feedback, the response from the staff was surprisingly harsh. I was told, “You can’t just try something — you pay for it.” It wasn’t about getting a free meal; it was about being heard. I love exploring food and would have gladly paid to try another dish. That lack of mindfulness and care changed the experience completely.

I’ve had positive interactions with the owner in the past, and this has been a long-standing neighborhood spot. But this visit left me disappointed — especially when choosing to spend Black dollars locally and being met with dismissiveness.

The restaurant itself has plenty of seating, hand sanitizer available, fans for warm days, and an open layout that’s clean and casual. It’s conveniently located and a decent choice when other places are closed late at night.

Still, the service could improve by listening to customers with compassion and valuing feedback — that’s what turns a decent restaurant into a beloved neighborhood staple.

No pictures necessary — just honesty and accountability.

Seatown, I’m back and this Thai joint you have to stop and try. It’s an open kitchen design…with nothing to hide.
I had the pleasure to enjoy the Garlic noodles with Chicken…amazing, the fresh not frozen noodles was truly noticeable.
Family, if you get the chance you have to stop into Bua 9 in Columbia City

This is such an amazing hidden gem in Columbia city. I live in the area for a long time but never found the time to try this place. I’m glad I carved out some time to try it. The food is delicious.

I had the ocean fried rice and tom yum as an appetizer. Tom yum was great. I ordered 5 spice with the Tom yum and it was SPICY. Authentic Thai spicy. It’s so hard to find authentic Thai spice in the area but this place is it. Tom yum was well seasoned with lots and lots of proteins inside. 1000% worth the price.

Ocean fried rice was probably 50% seafood and 50% rice. It’s so well seasoned and well made. You can taste the layers of eggs, soy sauce and chili on top of your rice and seafood. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

I would say this is up there with one of the best Thai places to eat in Seattle. Beats Kin Len Thai up in Fremont. I’m excited to go back and be a regular

This is my new favorite Thai place in town. Food is fresh and delicious. Stand out dishes for us were Drunken noodles and rainbow trout salad (in the specials menu) though the yellow curry tofu was stellar too.

It is open kitchen and it was so cool to see three ‘moms’ cooking. Was charming and authentic. Service was good but surprisingly most of the folks were doing takeout.

Heads up the spice level was not very consistent. Definitely recommend if you are in the mood for some Thai in Columbia City though I will come here just for Bua 9.
