Cozy place. Classic NW cuisine. Craft cocktails..
The best crab cake-more like a souffle-I’ve yet had. If you don’t share it you’re a pig like me
(Mine are not small hands)
Don’t ask the price just treat yourself!

Such a gem for Mukilteo. Nice for date nights. Food was amazing. Our only issue is prices. Two people and it was $300 with tip. Probably only go for special occasions. My husband loved his duck and the large crab cake was best i ever had.

Our date night tonight consisted of exploring Mukilteo. We’ve lived in this area most of our lives, but haven’t ventured out to try any new restaurants. We happened upon John’s Grill and man, what a gem of a place. It’s such a cute little spot, with the coolest vibe, and a bathroom so clean, I can eat off the floor We didn’t eat tonight, but we had a few drinks and none of the drinks disappointed. My husband had a few alcoholic beverages whereas I had a mocktail. Kelly, our server and bartender, was really the shining star tonight. Someone give her a raise! We’ll be back for food, and more drinks. Hopefully on a night that Kelly works, because she was that extra little sprinkle of sunshine and professionalism that every restaurant needs to succeed.

This place is stellar. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are all stellar. It’s fancy without being pretentious, upscale without being wildly overpriced. The only negative I can come up with is their stronanoff isn’t my favorite. Give them a try!

My husband and I went for our anniversary. It was delicious! The two types of bread and butter were perfectly paired. The brussel sprouts were different than I’ve had anywhere else, tangy with a subtle heat. The crabcake (appetizer, but should be an entree! ) was as big as the appetizer plates! It was so good! Hubs had a burger, and I tried the Cajun shrimp and grits. I’m still thinking about them! The flavors of Cajun seasoning mixed with the parmesan grits… I don’t have words. It was the star of the night. I’m definitely going back for that again. Bonus was a free dessert for our anniversary. A peach cake with cream cheese frosting and hazelnuts. Oh, and I spotted on my husband’s Blackberry Bramble. Yummy! Highly recommend!

Well this was a pleasant surprise. This is a small, cozy place tucked away off the Speedway, good for a romantic setting. The food was delicious. I had the seafood linguini and my better half had the New York steak and started with clam chowder. Top notch. This is a classy place and the price tag reminds you of it, but it was worth it. Server was fantastic and very friendly. We will make sure to come back.

I’ve always passed this place in Old Towm Mukilteo but finally had the chance to celebrate my sister’s retirement in this neighborhood restaurant. I do not plan to go back again. First, there’s plenty of parking in the back. There’s option for indoor and outdoor parking. They have a great selection of wine. The service was good. However, the food was a disappointment. The calamari was well seasoned but thickly breaded and salty. The portion was quite small. The crispy brussel sprouts was the best dish in our order and is definitely worth a mention. Three of us ordered a cup of corn clam chowder but we had to return them back since they were extremely salty. Do not expect a basket of free bread- you have to pay $5 for a small basket . Our main meal presentations were beautiful. I ordered the Halibut Fish and Chips but the batter was as salty as the calamari. The prawns in shrimp and grits and Caesar’s salad were huge and well cooked. The grits was also salty. Two in our party ordered the beef stroganoff and they said it was good.

What a perfect place for a date night; dimly lit, slow-paced, small with a home-grown feel (like going to a friend’s house), with superb high end dishes and a sizable selection of wine to boot. It’s one of these places that serve each table 2-3 times max a night. So reservation is definitely recommended but once you’re there it’s not a rush to swallow everything and leave. It’s high end without the obnoxious vibes.
Here’s everything our party of 4 ordered:
Bottle of Daou wine
Lavender lemon drop
Breadbasket with the honey butter and salted butter
Crab cakes
Seafood linguine
Filet mignon
Ribeye x 2
John’s salad
Blood orange tart
The crab cakes are a must. The steaks are huge and perfectly cooked to medium rare – so tender with simple salt/pepper. I’m not a fan of places that cover their delicious meat with a thick layer of salt/pepper where you no longer taste the meat. This place doesn’t do that thank goodness. Even the breadbasket was good, mainly because of the two honey and salted butter spreads.
Service was excellent, attentive without the pushiness.
$394 for 4 before tips ($100/person). Worth it for the nice evening out with friends.
