Inside atmosphere looked like a restaurant only allowing pickup orders during Covid-19 – unsure why as it was 5/28/24 during lunch rush.
Staff wasn’t rude or inviting. However, I did an online order for pickup so maybe not much needed to be said.
I’m not even sure if the staff are Thai. As someone who’s been to Thailand & eaten local cuisine including Pad Thai, this was upsetting to say the least. I wasted my $24 so you don’t have to!
The last few dinners we have had here were excellent.
During the most recent visit, we had the spring rolls and chicken dumplings for appetizers. The spring rolls were solid, though the dumplings were a little on the bland side.
For dinner, we had the Pattaya noodles and the Spicy Eggplant. Both dishes were excellent. The Eggplant was nicely spiced and the large Eggplant chunks were perfectly cooked. The Pattaya Noodles were also spicy, but the spice didn’t overpower the shrimp, squid, and crabmeat in the dish.
The service was great and the place looked as nice as ever.
Our Beef Mussaman was the best of the three dishes and sadly this entree had the smallest broth portion. Flavoring was controlled without anything being overpowering. The beef was indeed soft and the two potato chunks were just right.
Our green curry was way too spicy (we asked for a two out of five) and we lost every other flavor of the dish after the first bite.
The Tom Ke Hed soup had way too much fish sauce in the broth and the vegetables tasted like they were a day or two short of their expiration date. Again, the portion was very small.
Thankfully our dinner arrived warm so we got a fair expectation of what the meal should taste like.
The restaurant atmosphere and decor and the main entrance look however, needs some upgrading and clean up. Perhaps some Thai decor for the interior would give the place a bit more authentic feel. Removing stacks of patio chairs covered with tarp next to the entrance would take away some of the unpleasant look of the exterior.
With the hand-written notice on the door and stacked up chairs we actually thought the place was closed from 20 feet away and almost didn’t go in. Turned out the notice said “use other door.”
