The BEST new restaurant in Lakeland, HANDS DOWN!!!!
I may be slightly biased with my love for St. Louis but, WOW! Cafe 51 does it RIGHT!
My family and I went for dinner Wednesday (Feb 18th) evening and had the most perfectly delicious meal.
We got the toasted ravioli to start which is a MUST! Then we ordered the Cafe 51 Salad, the Chili Mac, the Southwest Chicken Wrap, and the Prime Rib Sandwich.
All were ABSOLUTELY phenomenal and flavorful!
The meat from the sandwich was tender and perfectly salted, the wrap was fresh, the chili mac was traditionally-superb, and the salad….. to die for!!!! From their house-made cheese blend being the creamiest and yummiest cheese I’ve ever tasted, to their dressing being just the right amount of vinegary-goodness, the salad was spot-on!
I truly have absolutely no complaints other than the fact that Cafe 51 will be taking alllll of my “eating out” money! Hahaha!
This restaurant is a MUST TRY for any local, or visitor wanting a refreshingly-satisfying, filling, and perfectly priced meal! I will be returning ASAP!

What a great little restaurant! So friendly. First time I’ve seen a legitimate pork tenderloin sandwich since we moved south from Indiana almost 20 years ago. IYKYK
My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and take a look at the filet she was served (attached – toppings moved aside to showcase the meat). I ordered the French dip (with extra segreto) and it was so incredibly tender. Great bread too! (also see attached)
Broccoli cheese soup was top notch (I took home two bowls for later) and their cheesy garlic bread is something you should get every time.
Shout out to Tom and Kathy, you do excellent work.

Another GREAT restaurant in Laklenad and its family owned! Great spot to have lunch with friends today.
Kathy went around each table introduced herself and even shared some background stories about the menu.
I had the black and blue burger and it was delicious.

This restaurant is a GEM! My husband and I tried it and found the best food we’ve had in YEARS. Cheesy garlic bread app (they make their own cheese blend in house with a from scratch marinara that was incredible), the best southwest salad ever, and a prime dip sandwich with a delicious au jus that wasn’t too salty, just ultra flavorful. Awesome fries – skinny, perfectly lightly seasoned, soft and warm inside, perfectly crisp outside. A small business with the brother as chef, sister & husband as owners, all there working, super friendly, with the cutest decor. Highly recommend is an understatement. We will definitely be back!

We wanted to go someplace different yet close by so we thought this was a good choice. Granted, we knew it had only been open for three weeks, but we thought we would try it based on the reviews. That was our mistake. When we got there, they told us that we could not order for 10 minutes because the kitchen was so small and they were very behind (?). So we said well, OK let’s just wait. Have a drink maybe. Nope! They do not have any alcohol, wine, or beer. OK so we waited and they finally came over and told us they could take our order. So we ordered some sandwiches and then waited for our food. And waited. And waited. And waited. Our server was at the table beside us and obviously knew the people because she was there for at least 15 minutes, chatting with them about everything under the sun, and never even glanced our way to check on anything. They got their food very quickly, by the way. A couple who came in after us was seated, had their order taken, which was almost identical to ours, ate, and were on their way out the door when we finally got our food. It was very disappointing to say the least. My grilled cheese looked like it was made with Kraft singles. My husband‘s wrap was cold. The very few onion rings that I got, which I had to pay an up charge for, came out cold, but yet crunchy for some reason. For two sandwiches with fries and onion rings, and two iced teas, we paid almost $50! I wish them the best of luck and I hope they improve, but we most definitely will not be going back.

There is no place like this in Lakeland! Amazing food choices, all my families favorites. The charbroiled chicken is unbelievable and the homemade salad dressing is the best in town. Great service and family feel. I’ll be a regular!

Had a really nice dinner. Great food and the atmosphere was pleasing. Love the music in the background. Excited to go back and try other signature dishes. It’s great to have a place like this near home.

Cafe 51 exceeded all expectations (and I’m a foodie!) Service was impressive- you can tell the servers care genuinely about your experience. The owner stopped by to check on us and I was happy to sing this restaurant’s praises. You won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to return.

Great first experience at Cafe 51! I got the chicken club, fried, and it was delicious. I’m very particular about my chicken and this passed with flying colors. It was pound thin, no tendon or chewy bits, and with a great crunchy coating. The sweet potato fries weren’t my favorite, not quite crispy and not very sweet, but they weren’t bad persay and didn’t affect my overall thoughts on the food. The restaurant is small and I’d love to see outdoor seating space added, if that’s a possibility. We certainly will be back and I’m thrilled to have a new spot so close to home.

Started off on a sour note. Wanted to sit at a four top (there was two of us) in a completely empty restaurant at 345pm but wasn’t allowed to because of the rush that might happen. Food was delicious and the waitress was passable. Nobody else had come in by the time we went to leave. They need to read the room better and will probably not be back because of it.
