Food was good. I had a burger and Duke had pastrami sandwich and fries. I ordered beer battered onion rings which were good but didn’t eat them all cause they smelled fishy. I was craving onion rings so I chanced eating them (shrimp and fries are fried in same oil). The younger waitress was super cheery and nice. I loved seeing all those old lunch boxes; made for nostalgic conversation.

My favorite sandwich shop in town. Haven’t tried one thing I didn’t like from here. Highly recommend their cold Italian sub and their fried fish poboy. Staff is always super friendly! Highly recommend checking out this place.

Delicious! My husband went in today to grab lunch with his coworker. It was so good that he made the time to order food for the kids and I. The food was fresh and tasted like home. My husband’s experience meeting the owners was extremely pleasant. They went above and beyond for my family and I. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This must have been my 10th visit to HR over the years and it never disappoints. A local landmark and must try sub place. You have to go just for the atmosphere alone the great subs are a bonus. If your close to Kemah or Cleat Lake Shores you must stop by.

I got the Ruben single meat with 1000 island and ranch fries. Sandwich was perfect and the fries were hot and crisp. The waitress was amazing!! She never let my cup below half full and was quick and attentive. The ambiance is very eclectic with a western feel. Only negative is the price is a little high and the lighting is a little low.

So, my experience here was below average. The decor was interesting and quirky had its own charm though some people might disagree though. The food and wait staff. WoW. This place just seems like it could be great I was expecting so much more from the reviews I saw. So I ordered my food of lasagna my wife got a hoagie.
We also ordered jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese. These were awful so much cream cheese there was no jalapeno hardly. Also the middle of it was still cold cream cheese and no flavor anywhere to be found. Disappointing. The hoagie was not made correctly and was pretty bland unfortunately. However the lasagna was even more disappointing. Taste was pretty ok not the best not the worst I’ve had. When I got to the middle it was cold. So this lasagna was probably microwaved and not made fresh that day they have lasagna as an on going special through out the week I’m pretty sure mine was at least a day or two old. They took it back and microwaved it more not a new slice like I was expecting. The wait staff just seemed all-over the place no clear direction.I had no idea who my actual waitress was one of them who I thought was the owner talked to every table but ours. This place has the pontential to be good, but as of now I cannot recommend this place in good concious. I give this a two star for ok flavor on lasagna.

One of the best subs I have ever eaten. I had the turkey sub (hot) and the Cajun roast beef sub (hot) as well! You can either have the sub hot or cold, my personal preference is hot, because it really brings out the flavor in the meat. Everytime I come here the staff is very friendly and eager to help you through the menu, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fresh home-made meal.

Love this place. A local secret is the fact that Friday is STEAK NIGHT! The steaks are huge and they are awesome.

It’s an OK sandwich but overpriced. The bread is good, just regular shredded lettuce, and limited veggies-nothing special. $20 for a toasted footlong, and they charged extra for addtl veggies and to toast it, which seemed stingy.
