Excellent, authentic Mediterranean food. Service was ok but could be they were understaffed. Place was really nice. We could sit outside with the heater on. Cool weather and string lights on! Other patrons weren’t too loud so we could talk without yelling at each other. We ordered hummus, Brussel sprouts, Greek salad, brisket, sea bass, and salmon, all were delicious. Maybe the brisket was our least fave but still pretty good. Hope they could keep up the quality.

Sometimes you read reviews of new restaurants and you wonder if it isn’t too good to be true, but in this case the raves for Aegean are fully deserved. A delightful place, attentive and charming service, fair prices, and some pretty remarkable food. Interesting, varied, deeply flavored, and inventive. We had Brussels sprouts and Humous, both enough for a crowd (the accompanying bread superb), halloumi, chicken and bass, a glass of wine each, no room for the dessert (next time). Every dish was delicious, maybe the sprouts were my favorite, but gonna have to go back. Our server Isabella was lovely, happy, and knowledgeable. A new favorite in Santa Barbara

I had an amazing experience at Aegean in Santa Barbara! The flavors here are on another level — the menu is packed with delicious Mediterranean dishes that feel both authentic and creative.
The meatballs and chicken quickly became my favorites, but the sea bass absolutely stole the show — truly unforgettable. On top of the food, the staff makes you feel so welcome, and the chef brings a cool energy to the whole atmosphere while working in action.
This new restaurant is setting a fresh standard for Santa Barbara dining, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Friendly service. We even had the honor to talk to the chef.
A great evening.

While I am typically loath to rank and order things, I feel compelled to share what is now my favorite dinner spot in Santa Barbara. Everything—everything—about our meal at Agean was perfection.
The setting is utterly delightful. Though the tumult of State Street is just around the corner, it feels miles away. Sitting beneath charming Italian lights woven through the trees, you feel as though you’ve escaped to a hidden gem on the Greek islands.
Our wonderful server clearly felt such love and respect for everyone working in the kitchen, and she radiated an infectious joy in sharing their talents with the diners.
And the food! Oh my. Every bite of every dish we tried was simply delectable—truly.
You will not be disappointed…though I suspect I may be disappointed when reservations become harder and harder to secure as more people discover it.

This is such a wonderfully unique dining experience, whether in Santa Barbara or elsewhere. It feels like the kind of place you’d find on a small backstreet in Greece, Turkey or another Mediterranean locale; intimate, inviting, oozing with charm. The staff is equally so; filled with passion and excitement about what you’re about to experience. Shout out to Isabella for guiding us each step of the way, one truly believes she loves what she does along with the food she presents. Perhaps the best way to sum up
Chef’s Efe’s food is…familiarly unfamiliar; like a great bottle of wine, you think you recognize the tastes and then other subtle, fragrant scents invade your tastes leaving you marveling at the depth of knowledge in each dish. Fairly priced all around, simple but not simplistic, including their take on flourless chocolate cake that is not to be missed. Go, and soon. Make a reservation because, alas, Aegean has been discovered; the good news is you share your joy with other diners.

There used to be only one Mediterranean restaurant in this town but that is no longer the case. Not only has Chef Efe being able to provide us with another choice to eat this type of cuisine but he has done it with unparalleled style and craft. He takes you on a journey with his very daring choices and mixes of flavors. You can also taste the freshness of each ingredient. I hope his menu changes with the seasons because he has the vision of an artist and should be able to create new, more adventurous dishes. We are very lucky to have him in our community. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Keep up the excellent work.

Loved everything about this gem of a restaurant! This is the kind of place you’d love to keep to yourself but simply must tell others. We dined on the patio which was spacious and comfortable. The market specials were standouts, as was the sea bass with the most tender, lemony, beans. They just added takeout as an option and we are excited to add Aegean to our regular dining rotation.

Really delicious food and great service. We had tried Chef Efe’s food before and it’s really fantastic flavors. We tried most everything on the menu and really enjoyed it all with the cauliflower with lemon tahini (so flavorful) and the meatballs as stand outs. But really everything was amazing. Great food and service with great views from the courtyard towards De La Guerra Plaza. Our group lingered over our shared meal and felt so comfortable and relaxed and well looked after. The flavors are really delicious!

Ege is the best Turkish chef out there. Before he becomes super famous, now is the time to taste his food! I am a recurrent customer over the years. Now that the restaurant is open, I will be continuing to eating here so as long as he is around!
