The Chinese people say this place is great, but I’ve tried it three times and disagree. It’s just not ideal for a midwesterner. The lamb dry pot was good, but too hot relative to dry pot in NY or Philly.
Updated review: I gave a not great review a few months ago. As a midwesterner I was more expecting non-authentic flavors that I would get from a standard restaurant. But, It was the only place open on Christmas Eve and so I went back. The food was very delicious and the waitress was extremely attentive. Pictured are lamb dry pot (spicy), a Hunan lamb (sweet), west-lake beef chowder, lotus root with calamari, and free Sago soup with Taro. As such, I have changed my mind, this place is great for people who like authentic Chinese food.

Enjoyed a nice dinner here with family. I would highly recommend the Spicy Diced Szechuan Chicken, Szechuan Fish Filet, and the string beans! Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Definitely check this place out if you want some authentic Chinese food!

Human Lamb: Good, it’s very soft but the sauce is a bit sweet for my taste
Eggplant with chicken: Great. Would eat again. Very flavorful and salty, not overwhelming.
Spicy Crispy Beef: good. Even though they say spicy, it’s not even on american average standard. Breased and fried beef strips in sweet and sour sauce.
Crab langoon: good

Hot and sour soup was good but the fried chicken wings and crispy shrimp/scallops were very small in portion size. The batter on the shrimp was also not cooked, it was still powdery/white in a few spots.

A pretty standard Chinese restaurant. Authentic Chinese dishes are delicious and well priced, and it’s a great place to eat for large groups. ‘American’ Chinese food there is pretty mediocre however. Staff are really attentive with water refills and such. This is the place to go if you’re looking for authentic Chinese food and I recommend it for that.

No Frills is accurate. However my food was hot full of flavor and the staff on my visit was kind and very attentive. Dumplings (being picky here) had a bit of a pan taste just a step away from being left on too long. I would dine in again.

Food was ok. Service was good. Sweet and sour pork had a lot of onions. We also had ice cream at the end. Ordered the dinner combination for $13.99.

Absolutely outstanding picture perfect dish that explodes in your mouth with each bite. The sweet and sour pork was as good if not better than home cooked. This is a must try traditional Chinese restaurant that can accommodate a more western palate if requested. I highly suggest being adventurous when exploring the menu as the quality is top notch.
