The food here is absolutely outstanding! Every dish was cooked to perfection with rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and the perfect balance of spices. The presentation was beautiful, and the portion sizes were just right. From the appetizers to the main course and even dessert, everything tasted authentic and full of flavor. The service was friendly and quick, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had – highly recommended!

I am surprised to see that this place had great selections of Mediterranean food. We ordered grilled fish and 4 meat combos, grilled mushrooms, hummus and all were very well seasoned and tasty. Prices were affordable and portions were generous. Parking was however very limited.

I went here because of its “positive” reviews. So I thought it would be important to leave a REAL review. Especially considering that family members were deceived by the reviews as well and had the same complaints I did.

First off, this restaurant is DIRTY. There’s spider webs hanging off the walls on top of the tables. The toilet in the bathroom is off its hinges.

Now let’s talk about the “food”. It took over an hour for our order to be ready. At first, I was happy when the lady said that it would take time because I assumed the food would be fresh. After waiting over an hour for our, I was UTTERLY disappointed. The rice was rubbery and you can tell they just warmed up frozen rice and threw some ghee on top and served it to us. The Mediterranean platter looked exactly the same as the Indian platter. We were given mustard and ranch sauce when asked if there was any hot sauce or white sauce with the food. Hummus had a rancid smell because they probably took that out the freezer too. They didn’t have any extra bread to give us with the hummus (bread they gave us tasted like it came out the freezer as well)

I would NEVER come back to this “restaurant” or would recommend it to anyone!
Not sure how this place has positive reviews. Maybe a new owner took over recently? Not sure, but again, family members have had the same experience I did.

Gem!! The food is flavorful and great portions. Quiet and cozy. Real Turkish coffee with cardamom and all. Loved it! The iced tea is also delicious!

I must say, I was cautious to try since I’ve never had Kefta meat before but thought to give it a try. Simple small eating facility, took my time to look though the menu and chose the Lunch Special with an extra order of bread, two orders of garlic sauce and their fresh lemonade. Close to being completed, the gentleman handed me the lemonade. Could see and taste the lemons they just squeezed to make it. Then the food came out and left. On my drive back, the smell was so good I pulled over to check it out! Not only was it so much food for just a small lunch but so deliciously looking I had to have it! I am definitely a fan of kefta now, at least how they make it! Something that truly impressed me was the garlic sauce! Other places I’ve had garlic sauce, badly taste garlic, clearly use garlic powder… you can clearly see the garlic chopped in it! Tastes exactly like fresh garlic! I wish I would’ve gotten more for the bread cause I poured them over the food

Very authentic Mediterranean food with an Iraqi influence. I went with my friend from Iraq and he knew exactly what to order. (We ordered a lot so he could show me the menu) The ground beef kabobs were perfectly prepared and delicious. The beef shawarma was nicely charred and very good. I’m not a big fan of Baba Ghannoush but this one was very good. The hummus was fantastic too. I’ve had better falafel though. I would not have typically ordered okra soup but I’m pleased my friend ordered it. It was amazing. I’d pass on the white bean soup though. The server was from Iraq and the place is small but if you want authentic cuisine, this is your place!

I recently dined at Skokie Grill and Bakery and was thoroughly impressed with their offerings. The highlight of my meal was the fish dish, Maskoof, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to tender, smoky perfection. The flavors were rich yet balanced, making each bite a true delight. Alongside it, I had the white bean soup, Fasolia Soup, which was a comforting bowl of warmth. The beans were cooked just right, and the broth had a depth of flavor that made it incredibly satisfying. Together, these dishes created a meal that was both hearty and memorable. Skokie Grill and Bakery has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorites!

I drive on most weekends from Orland Park to this place in Skokie to get parcel of Chicken Biryani. Inside need remodeling to attract more diners.

This is the worst food I have eaten in Skokie. It made me very sick and I would not recommend this place. The food has no taste just too much spices that doesn’t make any flavor. I had very unpleasant experience.

The food was pretty good but the service was not good at all. We never got our drinks for example and the waitress never smiled. Very transactional. You could tell there are lots of regulars though, they spoke what seemed to be Assyrian
