We ordered take out for 4 adults. Serving sizes are large. But. The food was horrible. Pork fried rice was almost black and tasted horrible. Teriyaki chicken was way over cooked. Chicken wings too crunchy. The only thing we enjoyed was the pork lo mein and the boneless pork ribs. I’ve been going to them for many years. It’s now time to definitely go somewhere else.

Sunday lunch at the New Garden Chinese Restaurant at the Route 201 Skowhegan Plaza, ME! Heard a lot of good things being said and been a very longtime since my last meal with them. Nice atmosphere and decor. Easy to read menus and placemats with the local businesses. Very good food portions. I give everything 5 stars and rice 3.5 stars. The Crab Rangoons were the best I ever had. Great batter to meat ratio on the chicken fingers. The sweet and sour sauce, perfect! Friendly staff and quick service. Definitely recommend! By the way, Bromar Printing Solutions printed the menus for New Garden and placemats for Coastline Marketing. Definitely recommend, thank you.

We went to Skowhegan to get some tin snips and thought let’s go to New Garden for a nice quiet dinner. Oh how wrong we were. I will never go back. Both doors had been smashed out so there was drama around that. The waitress had to finish her conversation before seating us. One of the girls working had made a FB post so ALL their friends were coming in, talking loudly, etc. One guy said make it quick because he left his babies home alone. They were talking about someone talking about them so they were trash talking everyone from other customers, their neighbors and management. Meanwhile the radio is also playing loudly but mostly static. My chicken was so tough but they hadn’t given me a knife. Our waitress was too involved with her friends to check on us and realize we need more water. did I mention we won’t be going back?

By FAR the best Chinese Food in Central Maine!! Worth every mile traveled for this dinner!
Order the Pu-Pu for 1 and every time I tried a different item, my reaction was the same.
“OMG!? This is freaking amazing!”

I am severely disappointed in the food I received today, my sweet and sour chicken was basically chicken fingers. They tasted like cardboard. My pork fried rice was burnt and had no flavor. The only good thing was the sesame chicken, not that great either. For how expensive this food was I expect more flavor. The portions are good but what’s the point if it’s not edible. I will say the lady who rung me out was very nice and helpful. But I do not think I will order from here again.

This is our go-to place for Chinese food! Always good, always plentiful. I appreciate that they deliver. The service is always friendly. We usually do take-out but I like in- service if I have the time.

Just a heads up, if you order from New Garden in Skowhegan and THEY mess up your order, you have to get what they put in, not what you ordered. I call in an order for the crispy sesame chicken, crab rangoons, chicken lo mein, and a side order of a small beef teriyaki, which is D18. When I got home, we got D17. orange chicken, NO egg roll(which I guess is what it comes with), and chicken lo mein. I also asked for the chili oil and it came completely rancid. Smelled and tasted like old cheese. So when I called in and said they messed up and would like my crab rangoons, I’ll deal with the orange chicken, they said no. I asked even if I did not order wrong and they put it in wrong, I cannot get what I ACTUALLY ordered. The lady said correct. Plus, both D17 and D18 are the same price, so swapping for what I actually ordered should not be an issue. Would not recommend.
